More On The Double Bind Palestinian Leaders-Collaborators Have Imposed On Me

Raji Sourani is the epitome of a top Palestinian leader-collaborator. On one hand he and his cronies have imposed a deliberate hostile silence on the ongoing torture of my daughter, of my son and of myself by the zionist Gestapo here in Australia, thus becoming accomplices in the zionist Gestapo's criminal torture. On the other hand, I am expected to continue my support for the Palestinian cause under their control as if all is well, and as if they remain forever unaccountable and beyond reproach.

Moreover, while all those leaders-collaborators travel freely around the world and enjoy a pleasant life even in occupied Palestine, my daughter, my son and myself have been subjected to the ongoing torture by the zionist Gestapo here in Australia. This is absurd, isn't it : I am tortured by the zionist Gestapo for my strong support for the Palestinian cause, while they, the Palestinian leaders-collaborators, not only enjoy the good life, but also have support of the Palestinian people despite their silent collaboration with the zionist Gestapo !

This double bind Sourani and his Palestinian cronies have imposed on me cannot go on much longer. If it does, then I will have to disengage. I shall remain always opposed to zionism and to the zionist apartheid regime of Israel, and shall remain always on the side of the Palestinian cause, because it is a just cause, and I love justice, but would never be active for it again.

MORE REASONS WHY RAJI SOURANI MUST RESIGN NOW

Raji Sourani is still the head of the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) ; still the Vice President of the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH) ; and still a member of The International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) Executive Committee.

Obviously , he holds these missions not as a private person, but as representative of the Palestinian people. As I have pointed out in at least a dozen previous posts on this blog, Raji Sourani has violated his duties as the missions job holder by deliberate silent complicity in the zionist Gestapo's ongoing torture of my daughter, my son and myself.

I reiterate that Raji Sourani should resign these public mission jobs which obliged him to respond positively to my appeals .

As I had stated some 2 months ago in my letter to the ICJ Australia President :

"The zionist terrorism to which myself, my daughter and my son have been subjected to can have only one purpose : to kill us ! Therefore ASIO ( the Australian secret police) should have stopped it, but it does the opposite instead. The federal government should have ordered ASIO to stop this zionist terrorism, but it refuses to do so, thus giving both the zionist Gestapo and ASIO the green light to go ahead and kill us. The only hope left for us is the protest intervention by ICJ !

ICJ should be reminded of the specific provisions of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948, articles 3 and 5 :

"Article 3.

Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person."

"Article 5.

The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948 is an international human rights document which is at the foundation of the ICJ, the FIDH and of any other human rights organisation. However, neither the ICJ not FIDH have taken heed of my complaints and of my appeals, which is why the duty of Raji Sourani to initiate a positive respnse to my complaint has been of vital importance.

Furthermore, the ICJ is duty bound to protest my torture as it is a very grave violation of the rule of law, as is stated by the ICJ :

Calling for a Special Session: An Opportunity to Ensure that Justice is NOT Delayed,

an Opportunity to Rectify the Wrongs, and an Opportunity for the Member States to Act for Victims at the UN Human Rights Council

On 1 October 2009, the UN Human Rights Council decided to defer consideration of the report issued by the UN Fact Finding Mission investigating last winter’s Israeli aggression into Gaza until March 2010. This decision represented a failure of the international framework for the protection of human rights, and a blow to the victims of violations of international human rights and humanitarian law. The Palestinian Authority failed to stand up for its own people, and the Human Rights Council failed to fulfill its own responsibilities and mandate.

It is now incumbent upon the forty-seven Member States of the Human Rights Council to pay heed to their obligations and the public demand for accountability and take all the necessary measures to rectify their grave failure and provide justice to the victims of the attack against Gaza, referred to as “Operation Cast Lead”. The victims of the 23 day military aggression, which killed at least 1,400 Palestinians and injured more than 4,000, continue to suffer from the destruction levied during the offensive, as well as from Israel’s ongoing blockade of the Gaza Strip, which is now in its third year.

Justice delayed is justice denied. Therefore, we call upon the Human Rights Council to convene a special session without delay in order to endorse the Fact Finding Mission’s report and its conclusions and recommendations in their entirety. Convening a special session provides the international community with an opportunity to ensure that the report is not sidelined over the coming months and its recommendations are endorsed in their entirety and implemented fully. Only then will the Human Rights Council discharge their essential mandate and the international community will be able to uphold their obligations to ensure respect and protection of human rights.

The report submitted by the Fact Finding Mission is thorough and impartial. The Mission’s impartiality is evidenced by their examination of alleged violations of international humanitarian and human rights law committed by all parties. It is essential that the Human Rights Council acts immediately to fulfill its mandate and to promote the centrality of the rule of international law in the search for justice and accountability in the wake of the Israeli offensive called Operation Cast Lead.

We therefore call upon:

· The Palestinian Authority and the PLO to publicly, effectively and immediately ensure the convening of a special session of the Human Rights Council,

· The Member States of the Human Rights Council to request the convening of a special session;

· The Member States of the Human Rights Council to adopt a resolution endorsing the report by the Fact Finding Mission in its entirety; and,

· The Observers of the Human Rights Council to support the Member States in their convening of a special session and adoption of a resolution endorsing the entirety of the report by the Fact Finding Mission.

Swedish journalist: The PA was aware of Israel’s theft of human organs

DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Swedish journalist Donald Bostrom revealed Sunday in Damascus that the Palestinian Authority (PA) and its media outlets were aware of Israel’s theft of human organs from Palestinians, noting that the PA deliberately ignored this issue.

Bostrom told a news conference that this issue was known to late Palestinian president Yasser Arafat and the newspapers affiliated with the PA, adding that he told the PA leadership about this but it was reluctant to unveil anything about it.

The journalist expressed his disappointment at the Arab governments in general and the PA in particular for not having any reactions towards this serious issue and for not referring it to the UN.

He also said that because of publishing his report in newspapers, he received hundreds of death threats and faced numerous difficulties in his career as a journalist.

IS RAJI SOURANI NOT ACCOUNTABLE ? CAN HE ACT OR REFUSE TO ACT CAPRICIOUSLY - INCLUDING COLLABORATION WITH THE ZIONIST ENEMY ?

Raji Sourani seems to consider himself positioned on top of the world, and he certainly is on top of the Palestine cause. Like Mahmoud Abbas, the PA President and rival collaborator ,anybody in occupied Palestine, except the zionist apartheid of Israel, is at his whims. Ever since my first open letter to the Attorney-General of Australia, on the 10th of December last year, I have made it known to the public that my daughter, my son and myself have been subjected to ongoing torture here in Australia by the zionist Gestapo in collaboration with ASIO, the Australian secret police. This criminal torture and the ASIO collusion are very severe violations of the rule of law and should be of urgent concern to the International Commission of Jurists !

He did not reply, and he persisted in his silent hostility since then, despite my appeals and the appeals by others.

The silent hostility by Raji Sourani is not only a dereliction of his duty as member of the ICJ Executive Committee, it is also a silent collaboration with the zionist Gestapo, the arch enemy of the Palestinians !

Sourani should, therefore, resign immediately, and the hostile silence in collaboration with the zionist Gestapo's torture must also end immediately, before it is too late for the Palestinian people too !

It took 25 years longer than George Orwell thought for the slogans of 1984 to become reality.

“War is Peace,” “Freedom is Slavery,” “Ignorance is Strength.”
I would add, “Lie is Truth.”

The Nobel Committee has awarded the 2009 Peace Prize to President Obama, the person who started a new war in Pakistan, upped the war in Afghanistan, and continues to threaten Iran with attack unless Iran does what the US government demands and relinquishes its rights as a signatory to the non-proliferation treaty.

The Nobel committee chairman, Thorbjoern Jagland said, “Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future.”

Obama, the committee gushed, has created “a new climate in international politics.”
Tell that to the 2 million displaced Pakistanis and the unknown numbers of dead ones that Obama has racked up in his few months in office. Tell that to the Afghans where civilian deaths continue to mount as Obama’s “war of necessity” drones on indeterminably.

No Bush policy has changed. Iraq is still occupied. The Guantanamo torture prison is still functioning. Rendition and assassinations are still occurring. Spying on Americans without warrants is still the order of the day. Civil liberties are continuing to be violated in the name of Oceania’s “war on terror.”

Apparently, the Nobel committee is suffering from the delusion that, being a minority, Obama is going to put a stop to Western hegemony over darker-skinned peoples.

The non-cynical can say that the Nobel committee is seizing on Obama’s rhetoric to lock him into the pursuit of peace instead of war. We can all hope that it works. But the more likely result is that the award has made “War is Peace” the reality.

Obama has done nothing to hold the criminal Bush regime to account, and the Obama administration has bribed and threatened the Palestinian Authority to go along with the US/Israeli plan to deep-six the UN’s Goldstone Report on Israeli war crimes committed during Israel’s inhuman military attack on the defenseless civilian population in the Gaza Ghetto.

The US Ministry of Truth is delivering the Obama administration’s propaganda that Iran only notified the IAEA of its “secret” new nuclear facility because Iran discovered that US intelligence had discovered the “secret” facility. This propaganda is designed to undercut the fact of Iran’s compliance with the Safeguards Agreement and to continue the momentum for a military attack on Iran.

The Nobel committee has placed all its hopes on a bit of skin color.

“War is Peace” is now the position of the formerly antiwar organization, Code Pink. Code Pink has decided that women’s rights are worth a war in Afghanistan.

When justifications for war become almost endless--oil, hegemony, women’s rights, democracy, revenge for 9/11, denying bases to al Qaeda and protecting against terrorists--war becomes the path to peace.

The Nobel committee has bestowed the prestige of its Peace Prize on Newspeak and Doublethink.

To add insult to injury, Raji Sourani refuses to even reply to mine and others' appeals to him, thereby leaves me to guess his reasons/motives for his despicable silent collaboration with the zionist Gestapo in my torture.

Raji Sourani, more than any other Palestinian has the power and the opportunity to put an end to the zionist Gestapo torture of myself, my daughter and my son. He can do that in his capacity as a member of ICJ Executive Committee, by putting it on the urgent agenda of the ICJ . The declared purpose of the ICJ is to stand guard against violations of the rule of law in any country. Our torture by the zionist Gestapo in Australia , in collaboration with ASIO, the Australian secret police, is a blatant violation of the rule of law by the federal government of Australia. Hence the scope for protest action by the ICJ against this government.

The zionist Gestapo is the arch enemy of the Palestinians, in occupied Palestine and outside it. It is therefore the duty of Sourani to take action against its turture of an anti-zionist Palestine supporter. He can also activate the powerful FIDH organisation, of which he is vice president. Together with a worldwide public campaign of solidarity the zionist Gestapo's torture can be stopped, before it is too late for me and for the Palestinian cause too.

WHAT ARE THE CONSIDERATIONS BEHIND RAJI SOURANI'S REFUSAL TO PROTEST AND TO CONDEMN MY TORTURE BY THE ZIONIST GESTAPO ?

Some 4 years ago Raji Sourani stated to the Washington Post as follows :

"Of course, I have to talk about torture. Under international law, torture is absolutely illegal, and we cannot be selective. We have to have one standard for all people, Israeli or Palestinian, regardless of race or religion. But for decades the Israeli General Security Service has been torturing Palestinian detainees with impunity. Recently, a report released by the Israeli Special Controller confirmed what we have been asserting to the world community for years – torture has been widely and systematically used by Israeli interrogators against Palestinian detainees." (Emphasis added -B.M.).

Some two months ago ,when I brought to his attention my daughter ,my son and my torture by the zionist Gestapo here in Australia he did not respond at all. I have asked for his intervention as a member of the International Commission of Jurists' Executive Committee, as this was a grave violation of the rule of law by the Australian government, yet he has continued to ignore my appeal, and has still not responded.

What could be the reasons for this dereliction of duties by Raji Sourani, the professional Palestinian human rights activist ?

One possible reason is a selfish economic consideration by Sourani. He must be one of the highest paid officials in the impoverished Gaza Strip, with frequent trips overseas , no boss above him, and no one to be accountable for his actions. His donors - mainly from the European Union and from the USA - are far away, and their money is flowing to him for as long as he sends them reports prepared by his staff in regard to human rights violations in occupied Palestine by the zionist apartheid regime of Israel.

If he would have initiated immediate protest action by ICJ - as he should have done to stop my torture ! - it would not have pleased his donors, as they would have heard complaints by the pro-zionist members of the ICJ against him. Consequently, that could have killed the hen which was laying golden eggs for him... which reminds me of the deferred UN vote racket by the
Ramallah regime
on the Goldstone report !

However, even so, if he would have initiated protest action by ICJ, he would have done it as an ICJ Executive member, not as the director of PCHR in Gaza. Therefore, such a consideration becomes irrelevant even from a
Sourani selfish point of view.

Then there is another possible selfish consideration by Sourani, namely, that he does not wish to antagonise his pro-zionist friends in ICJ by insisting on protest action by ICJ against violations of the rule of law by the Australian government. If so, then he must resign from both the ICJ and PCHR, as well as from FIDH, because letting such a selfish consideration prevail is tantamount to betrayal of the Palestinian people and their anti-zionist cause which he should represent !

Falk: The PA betrayed its own people

GAZA, (PIC)-- Richard Falk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said that that the Palestinian authority (PA) in Ramallah betrayed its own people at a moment when the international community was so close to endorse Goldstone’s report accusing Israel of war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

"The Palestinians have betrayed their people, this was a moment when finally the international community indorsed the allegations of war crimes and it would have been an opportunity to vindicate the struggle of the Palestinian people for their rights under international law and for the Palestinian representatives in the UN themselves to seem to undermine this report is an astonishing development," he told al-Jazeera.

The UN official, however, said that the report, despite being delayed, is still very important because it exposed the inadequacy of Palestinian representation at the international level and will encourage groups supporting the Palestinian struggle to continue their efforts in this regard.
For his part, member of the central committee of the popular front for the liberation of Palestine Kayed Al-Ghoul said that delaying the vote on Goldstone’s report is a sin committed by Mahmoud Abbas, demanding him to apologize for this wrongdoing before the Palestinian people.
Ghoul stressed that this apology is a necessary step to stop the negative repercussions and to hold accountable all Palestinian officials who were responsible for what happened.
In the same context, PA official Sa’eb Erekat told Al-Jazeera satellite channel on Tuesday that the PA in Ramallah is responsible for delaying taking action on Goldstone’s report, alleging that there was a misunderstanding of the PA position.

Erekat during his talk to the channel appeared to be trying to absorb the popular anger towards the PA astonishing position against Goldstone’s report. Senior Fatah leader and former Palestinian ambassador to Egypt Nabil Amr held Abbas on Monday in remarks on the same channel fully and directly responsible for what happened in Geneva and called on him to stop fabricating excuses.

WHY DOES RAJI SOURANI CONTINUE TO REFUSE TO INITIATE PROTEST ACTION BY THE INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION OF JURISTS AND BY FIDH IN REGARD TO MY COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE VIOLATIONS OF THE RULE OF LAW BY THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT ?

Raji Sourani is the Director of PCHR in Gaza. He is also a member of the International Commission of Jurists' Executive Committee. He is also Vice President of the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH).

Ignoring mine and others' appeals to the ICJ and to himself,for two months now Raji Sourani refused to respond to my complaints against violations of my human rights, and violations of the rule of law by the Australian government. These violations have been perpetrated by the clandestine arm of Israel's government (the Zionist Gestapo) here in Australia, in collusion and in collaboration with ASIO ( the clandestine arm of the Australian government). They consist of ongoing nightly torture by sleep deprivation perpetrated by the zionist Gestapo against myself, in addition to the onging psychiatric torture of my daughter and my son at the instigation and insistence of the zionist Gestapo. These violations have no other reason, and no other purpose than to punish me for my opposition to zionism and to the zionist apartheid regime of Israel.

I call upon all Palestinian patriots, all just peace activists ,and all human rights activists to demand of Raji Sourani to perform his duties by initiating immediate ICJ and FIDH protest actions for ending my torture immediately. In a couple of days time this deafening and hostile silence by Palestinian leaders, who have imposed this silent collusion with the zionist Gestapo's ongoing torture by sleep deprivation of myself, and by psychiatric torture of my daughter and my son, would enter the 8th week ! Arbitrarily imposed silence without any explanation, despite mine and others' appeals !

In this capacity Sourani could have and should have demanded action by ICJ in protest against the violations of the rule of law by the Australian government which allows my torture by the zionist Gestapo. Yet, he persistently ignores the appeals to him, as do his pro-zionist colleagues on that executive.

This deliberate silence by Raji Sourani is very wrong for several reasons, adding to the collusion with the zionist Gestapo torture aspect. First is that he holds that ICJ position not merely in his private capacity, but as a representative of the Palestinian people, therefore must be actively involved in the ICJ protest action by initiating it. Similar is his capacity as Vice President of the International Federation of Human Rights, where he could have and should have initiated similar protest action against the Australian government's violations of the rule of law. Secondly, Raji Sourani had met me when I visited Gaza in 1988 for representing Palestinian political prisoners as an Israeli lawyer (on a visit there) together with local Palestinian lawyers during the first intifada. Thirdly, it is more than plain discourtesy to completely ignore the appeals to him without explaining and/or apologizing his omissions !

Sourani and other Palestinian leaders, who have imposed this hostile silence in collusion with the zionist Gestapo torture, cannot play a double game for long. On one hand declare opposition to the Ramallah regime for its collaboration with the zionist enemy, and at the same time colluding with that same enemy by this hostile silence ! The Goldstone’s Gaza War Crimes Report and the Palestinian Leadership

For the past few days I have been following the news and repercussion of the postponement of the Goldstone Report presented to the UN Human Rights Council at the request of the Palestinian leadership representing the Ramallah, PLO and Palestinian Authority.

I also watched on television unconvincing arguments and defense of the Ramallah leadership made by Nimer Hammad, Abbas chief political advisor and Abdullah Abdullah chairman of the political committee of the PA Legistlative Council. I also watched with amazement and amusement statements and claims made by Saeb Eurikat head of the PLO Negotiation Team deny the claims that the PLO and Palestinian leaderships asked for postponement of the presentations of the report for a vote.

Saeb made this claim few hours before the news announcement that the Palestinian leadership decided to postpone the presentations and vote on the Goldstone report. The shameless Saeb Eurikat can deny all this until he is blue in the face since he must have been aware of the decision to withdraw the support for and seek postponement of the Goldstone. This is not the first nor will it be the last time Ramallah leadership lies to the people and the world.

Of course Ramallah leadership claims, it did not have enough votes to take the Goldstone Report to the UN General Assembly due to lack of support from certain countries such as Russia and China while also claiming that some Arab and Muslims countries sought the delays because they are too embarrassed with their own human rights records is untrue and a lie.

Postponement of the Goldstone Report will not add one vote and will not change the mind of those who will not vote for it any way and the only thing the postponement will do is to bury the report forever. This happened before when the Palestinian leadership sought the suppression of report on Marwan Bargouthi before the same commission. However at no time did Abdullah Abdullah, Nimr Hammad or Saeb Eurikat speak of the real truth behind such a postponement, economic interests and blackmail.

Haitham Manna’a spokeperson of the Arab Human Rights Committee denied the claims of the Palestinian delegations that certain countries initiated and sought the support of the Palestinian delegation to postpone the vote on the Goldstone Report until next year. The news report claimed every one including the Europeans were surprised by the Palestinian delegations decision and announced it is pulling its support for the Goldstone Report seeking postponement of the vote.

Perhaps Jumman Namour of Al-Jazeera (Behind the News) and the newscaster on this afternoon Aljazeera newscast chose to avoid the sensitive issue and failed to raise the real reasons behinds the postponement of the vote with their Palestinian guests representing the Ramallah leadership; mainly the Israeli threats of withholding the issuing of the license for the second cellular service where the PA and the Palestinian Oligarchs stands to lose hundreds of millions of investments if Israel chose not to issue the license. This is in addition to the Israeli (Lieberman) threats to expose the Ramallah leadership and its active and cheerleading role during Israeli war on Gaza. Not to mention Netanyahu’s threats to cancel any peace talks as if he and Israel are ready to talk peace with the Palestinians.

With the exception of the Ramallah leadership no one is convinced of the real reasons for the postponement of the vote including Amnesty International, which is seeking the support of the UN Secretary General to present the Goldstone Report directly to the UN General Assembly.

This is not the first time that the PLO leadership and the Ramallah leadership failed to live up to its duties and responsibilities as the “claimed” representative of the Palestinian people. 5 years passed since the International Court of Justice issued its report on the illegality of the Apartheid Wall, yet the Palestinian leadership simply failed to follow up on this and simply dropped the ball and the threw Israel the lifeline. It needed then as it needed it now. We must not forget the financial role of certain key leaders in the supply of the cement to Israel to help build the Apartheid Wall the same way we see certain economic and financial interests supersede the rights and interests of the Palestinian people, where financial and economic interests of the leadership and the occupation meet forming the basis for decisions made by the Palestinian leadership.

This is not the first nor will be it the last time that the PLO and Palestinian leadership simply failed to live up to their duties. The PLO (Arafat & Company) failed to file civil and criminal claims against Israel, the US, Syria and the Lebanese Forces for the massacres in Sabra and Shatilla, and simply walked away from its responsibility. The same is true of the massacres in Tal-Zaater where the Palestinian leadership of Arafat & Company simply failed to do any thing about the massacres of some 5,000 Palestinians.

The list goes on and on to Hebron; to Jennin to Beit Hanoon among many where the PLO leadership simply looked the other way from all the crimes committed against the Palestinian people and decided to give top priorities to its personal and economic interests especially when it comes to its key role as partner and contractor with the Jewish Occupation.

Such leadership is simply unfit and unqualified to represent the Palestinian people. Postponement of the Goldstone will not add one single vote and will not help change any delegations mind and the only it will do is simply bury the report forever. Once again the PLO and Palestinian leadership proves it is true and loyal to its Israeli partners. Thank you Mr. Abbas for a job well done.

CRITICAL DECLARATION BY ALMOST ALL OF PALESTINE'S HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANISATIONS AGAINST PALESTINE'S LEADERS !

However, one of this organisations, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, has a director, Raji Sourani, who is also a member of the International Commission of Jurists. Yesterday, 2 October 2009, the Palestinian leadership – under heavy international pressure lead by the United States – deferred the draft proposal at the Human Rights Council endorsing all the recommendations of the UN Fact Finding Mission (the Goldstone Report). This deferral denies the Palestinian peoples’ right to an effective judicial remedy and the equal protection of the law. It represents the triumph of politics over human rights. It is an insult to all victims and a rejection of their rights.

The crimes documented in the report of the UN Fact Finding Mission represent the most serious violations of international law; Justice Goldstone concluded that there was evidence to indicate that crimes against humanity may have been committed in the Gaza Strip. Violations of international law continue to this day, inter alia, through the continuing Israeli-imposed illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip.

The findings of the Mission confirmed earlier investigations conducted by independent Palestinian, Israeli and international organisations.The injustice that has now been brought upon Palestinians has been brought upon everyone on this globe. International human rights and humanitarian law are not subject to discrimination, they are not dependent on nationality, religion, or political affiliation. International human rights and humanitarian law apply universally to all human beings.

The rule of law is intended to protect individuals, to guarantee their fundamental rights. Yet, if the rule of law is to be respected it must be enforced. World history, and the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land has shown us that as long as impunity persists, the law will continue to be violated; innocent civilians will continue to suffer the horrific consequences. Justice delayed is justice denied.

All victims have a legitimate right to an effective judicial remedy, and the equal protection of the law. These rights are universal: they are not subject to political considerations. In the nine months since Operation Cast Lead, no effective judicial investigations have been conducted into the conflict. Impunity prevails.

In such situations, international law demands recourse to international judicial mechanisms. Victims’ rights must be upheld. Those responsible must be held to account.The belief that accountability and the rule of law can be brushed aside in the pursuit of peace is misguided.

History has taught us time and time again, that sustainable peace can only be built on human rights, on justice, and the rule of law. For many years in Palestine international law, and the rule of law, has been sacrificed in the name of politics, and cast aside in favour of the peace process. This approach has been tried, and it has failed: the occupation has been solidified, illegal settlements have continued to expand, the right to self determination has been denied; innocent civilians suffer the horrific consequences.

It is now time to pursue justice, and a peace built on a foundation of human rights, dignity, and the rule of law. In Justice Goldstone’s words, there is no peace without justice.The justifications given by the Palestinian leadership regarding the decision to defer are inappropriate. Consensus is not required, the United Nations system works on a majority basis. Since the beginning of the UN, and over the course of the Israeli occupation begun in 1967, consensus has rarely been acquired.

The UN was established to represent the will of the nations of the world; it is inevitable that there will be dissent and disagreement. Decisions must rest on the will of the majority.As human rights organisations we strongly condemn the Palestinian leaderships’ decision to defer the proposal endorsing all the recommendations of the Fact Finding Mission, and the pressure exerted by certain members of the international community. Such pressure is in conflict with States international obligations, and is an insult to the Palestinian people.

As human rights organizations concerned with rights and justice, we declare that we will double our efforts to seek justice for the victims of the violations of human rights and international law in oPt without delay.

There can be very little doubt that Noam Chomsky and his cabal are the main source of the USA Left corruption. Similarly, there is very little doubt that Uri Avnery and his cabal are the main disruptive and corrupt influence on the development of anti-zionist Left under the zionist apartheid regime of Israel.

Although a fanatical zionist impostor who purports to be a peace activist, Uri Avnery is not hiding his loyalty to zionism, nor to the zionist apartheid regime of Israel. Only a few days ago he defined himself as an "Israeli patriot" to justify his loyalty to the zionist apartheid regime of Israel.

Noam Chomsky ,who purports to be anti-fascist and anti-imperialist, has never opposed zionism nor objected to the zionist apartheid regime of Israel. The reality is that he always has been loyal to both USA imperialism and to the zionist apartheid regime of Israel. He always has been a zionist impostor, but has publicised himself around the world as a "champion" of oppressed people. Recently he has travelled to Venezuela to meet Hugo Chavez, to flatter and bamboozle him furthermore.

On the 28th of August 2006,The Independent published Noam Chomsky's replies to readers' questions. One of the paper's readers asked him if he considers the USA a fascist country. Even more damage is inflicted by Chomsky and his ilk by providing a very negative role model to the people of Left in the USA and elsewhere. Furthermore, it is OK to be a wealthy man and make more money , like himself, while preaching against the capitalist establishment.

My own encounter with such corruption is documented in the previous post on this blog. The two purported supporters of the Palestine cause emailed to me cynical messages of hostility and contempt, rather than solidarity with me and protest the zionist torturers of my daughter, my son and myself.

thanks for your message.Ever since my return home from hospital, wherea cancer tumour was removed from my colon in January 2001, my sleephas been disrupted nightly between the hours 1am to 5am. Sometimes thedisruption has occurred several times during the the same night.The method of disruptions has been mainly by the use of firecrackers -hissing or exploding firecrackers - as well as banging on the wall(where I lived in a weatherboard house), on my door and window and/orusing any kind of external strong noise (like a whistle,,a suddenstart of a car or its tooting,,a sudden strong banging on a metalcontainer,ect.)..In my previous residence the perpetrator was theneighbour in the flat above me, and all he did was knock on his floorin the middle of the night to wake me up, and must have been wellpaid for that because he did not go to work during the day, and wentto sleep instead.The nightly disruptions occurred wherever I lived, and in any new placeI moved to live.Only in one case I was able to identify the perpetrator, but when Icomplained to the local police they refused to take any action againsthim because they said that he denies my complaint against him (evenwhen he broke my bathroom window).I then went to the local courtand obtained an injunction (intervention order) against him, but againthe police refused the enforce the order against him.In recent weeks the deprivation of my sleep has intensified so that Icannot compensate my loss of sleep at night by a nap during the day,as I am being woken each time I fall asleep.There is no one in the world who would/could deprive me of sleep everynight for almost 9 years, no matter where I live, except for Israel'ssecret police, in punishment for my exposing of zionist crimes !You can help by sending protest/reminder message to Raji Sourani whois a member of the Executive Committee of ICJ, urging him to demandprotest action by ICJ to stop these violations of the rule of law in Australia.

"I have a couple of more thoughts. If your complaints include honking horns or engines starting up in the middle of the night, your neighbors should hear them as well. If it does not seem to bother them, then they probably understand it as background noise and the effect of living in proximity with other people.
The banging on the ceiling by the person who lives above you might just be him bumping around in the middle of the night for some with nocturnal hours.
If the police are non- responsive to your complaints, talk to them and ask them why. It may be that they think the problem is you rather that what you say. The alternative is that they are in on the conspiracy too, which seems unlikely.
It is puzzling why you are singled out for persecution when there are many, many critics of Israel, including me, who are not so persecuted."

The third Palestine supporter is also American, John Spritzler, and here is his message :

To which I sent him a reply similar to the one I sent to William Martin.

It is obvious that out of the comments by the three Palestine supporters only the comments by the Palestinian activist, Sami Jamil Jadallah, are frank ,sincere and honest. The other two refuse to believe that the zionist Gestapo has been torturing me for nearly 9 years by sleep deprivation, and by implication they refuse to believe that Palestinian leaders have collaborated with the zionist Gestapo by imposing a hostile silence on this zionist crime.

Still worse, not only do they refuse to protest against this torture, they don't even mention the ongoing psychiatric torture of my daughter (for almost 32 years, and my son for some 19 years), and I provide below the list of links to my blogs of research into the crime of psychiatry and Big Pharma, with whom the zionists are closely allied.

Furthermore, both these two "Palestine supporters" are claiming in irony that they did not suffer any similar "punishment" as inflicted on myself therefore they "ask" why would I be "singled out " when they have been free and safe.

Well, there are two answers to this cynical question. First is that I do not know, and neither do they, what criteria the zionist apartheid regime of Israel use when they single out anybody for "punishment". Secondly, could it be that the zionist Gestapo has considered me more dangerous than they and other puported supporters of the Palestine cause, to be singled out for turture ?

As I pondered again the reason for the hostile silence imposed by Palestinian leaders on the torture of myself, my daughter and my son by the zionist Gestapo, I came up with some very disturbing conclusions.

First, the similarities between the attitudes of those "enemies" are nothing short of astounding. Both keep the same hostile silence about the torture, giving no reason for the torture nor for the hostile silence to me or to the public at large. Why ? The answer should be obvious, because both the zionist Gestapo torturers and their Palestinian silent accomplices know that inflicting torture on us is both illegal and morally outrageous from any non-fascist point of view.

Second obvious conclusion is that the purpose of the torture is almost common to both "enemies", namely, killing us is the purpose of the zionist Gestapo while the Palestinian leaders seek "only" to get rid of me.

It is clear why the zionist Gestapo want to kill us, but why would the Palestinian leaders keep their hostile silence ? The only answer I could come up with is that it is part of their defence of Noam Chomsky, Uri Avnery, and their zionist cabals. This is no joke, and here is why.

To expose and condemn Uri Avnery as a zionist impostor would require
also to strongly criticise Yasser Arafat who had considered him as a bosom friend, so much so that he allowed this zionist impostor to decorate his uniform with the emblem of Gush Shalom, which is the zionist flag joined together with the Palestinian flag. Avnery then took a photograph of Arafat with the zionist emblem, and immediately rushed to his website to upload it there !

To expose and condemn Noam Chomsky as a zionist impostor would require also to strongly criticise Prof. Edward Said, who had considered Chomsky as a bosom friend.

Born into and raised by a "deeply Zionist"(in his own words) family, Noam Chomsky has remained loyal to zionism* all his life, albeit under the cover and pretence of a "Left"guru in the West. This contradiction, between Chomsky's loyalty to zionism and his well publicised "Left views", is only one of several contradictory and absurd behaviours of his ,which merit the question: is Noam Chomsky an impostor? The other contradictions are related to the first one, but each of them is an absurdity/deception on its own. Thus, for example, while publishing books and articles which purport to criticise the USA foreign policies, its imperialist military interventions in other countries in particular, he had been holding for many years a well paid senior teaching position at MIT, which is the brain centre of the USA military-industrial complex under the control of and financed by the Pentagon. All of which expose another Chomsky absurdity, namely ,his persistent push into the ranks of Anarchist groups around the world by purporting to act as their guru, as if he himself has been nothing but a dedicated Anarchist all his life.

Since zionism has been central to Noam Chomsky's activities and views it would be necessary to take firstly a close (yet brief) look at zionism and at the zionist apartheid regime of Israel so that the implications are grasped correctly.

Zionism, political zionism, is a form of fascism. From its beginning it was looking for imperialist patronage in exchange for service to the British empire**. After the 2nd WW the patronage of zionism shifted to the world's centre of finance capital, the USA plutocracy. This job of spearheading the global rule (not just in the Middle East) for the huge USA transnational corporations has been undertaken by the Zionist apartheid regime of Israel with great zest (albeit with great secrecy), and to the grateful acclaim of the USA rulers. Hence their continued sponsorship of this racist regime, which in turn encourages further zionist impunity (like its production and deployment of WMD), and more perpetration of zionist war crimes and zionist crimes against humanity in Palestine and elsewhere around the world.

Acting as the spearhead for the USA transnational corporations does not, in itself, make the zionist apartheid regime of Israel a fascist regime, nor zionism a fascist ideology. Even their racist feature do not make them necessarily fascist, but combined with the militaristic worship of force/power, and with zionist aggressive territorial expansionism manifested by periodical invasions of neighbouring countries, and with a zionist political system in Israel where all political parties are zionist (with the exception of an Arab minority whose representatives are under constant threat ofexpulsion or arrest whenever they fail to toe the zionist line), and with fascist legislation like the Emergency Regulations(Defence), 1945, the zionist apartheid regime of Israel is a fascist regime with a fascist ideology and fascist policies. The judiciary there follows the zionist line too, of course, and the recent case of Tali Fahima, an Israeli woman peace activist of Jewish background, who has been detained without trial, tortured, incarcerated in solitary confinement, and only after one year in prison her trial begins in secrecy, proves the fascist character of the regime too. There is freedom there only for fanatical zionists, and only partial and conditional freedom for Israelicitizens who are not fanatical zionists.

A very impotant fascist episode in the history of zionism is the active collaboration of the top zionist hierarchy with the fascist regimes of Mussolini and Hitler before, during, and after the 2nd WW (when top Nazi war criminals were saved from the gallows due to the intervention of the zionist hierarchy). That collaboration began in the early 1920s by Vladimir Jabotinsky, the founder of fanatical zionism who befriended and supported Mussolini. This friendship culminated in themilitary training by the Black Shirts of Jabotinsky's youth followers (Betar), some 135 of them. However, the hierarchy of "mainstream Zionism" did not lag behind Jabotinsky. As soon as Mussolini imposed his rule in Rome, all the rest of the top zionist hierarchy went on a pilgrimage to Rome, to meet Mussolini. They continued to court Mussolini well into the mid '30s, even after his invasion of Ethiopia, and after his alliance with Hitler. Then, during the war, was the zionist collaboration with the Hitler regime which began with the Ha'avara agreement and culminated with the collaboration in the mass murder of Jews in Hungary, as would be revealed during the Kastner trial in Israel during 1954-1955.

So you would think that a person like Noam Chomsky, who claims to be anti-fascist and anti-imperialist, would condemn zionism, and the zionist apartheid regime of Israel, but he has not, and he never wrote a single sentence which condemns zionism or the zionist apartheid regime of Israel. Moreover, he has many zionist friends there in Israel, and he used to spend his vacations in his beloved zionist kibbutz there.

Then there is the other absurdity, namely, what was this "Left guru" doing at MIT, the USA brain centre of the military industrial complex, where he had been holding a teaching position for so many years? To answer this question we would need to take a brief look at MIT.

In an article titled, MIT Research Heavily Dependent on Defense Department Funding, D.J. Glenn, writes that "MIT is the number one non-profit Department of Defense contractor in the nation..." and he concludes by saying: "The fact that (MIT) chooses to devote less than 20% of research effort to things other than more efficient means to kill is more than disgusting, it is criminal." Another author, B. Feldman, writes under the title, MIT & The Air Force, that: "If an estimated 3,565 civilians were, indeed, killed between October 8, 2001 and Christmas Day 2001 as a result of the U.S. Air Force's military campaign in Afghanistan, then an argument might be made that MIT shares some moral responsibility for these Afghan civilian deaths. And if 2002 brings another escalation in U.S. Air Force military activity in Iraq, it might be productive for anti-racist/anti-war folks in the U.S. to again demand that MIT end its collaborative relationship with the U.S. Air Force, once and for all." (www.questionsquestions.net/docs0209/1112 __mit.html) And in reply to a reader's question he states as follows: "Although MIT Professor Chomsky has been on the payroll of the 12th-largest recipient of US Air Force war contracts in recent years, the article isn't asserting "that Chomsky is a controlled person." But there is evidence that Z magazine was unwilling to print an article about MIT's links to the U.S. Air Force's space warfare preparations and to the Pentagon's think-tank, the Institute for Defense Analyses, a few years ago." The question which begs itself again then is what is the "guru of the Left" doing in MIT? If the answer is that he had been just earning his livelihood, than it a manifestly false answer, not only because it was his choice (he could have gone to another university), but also because he had been there for many years as a senior lecturer, and the bosses of the institution had been very proud to have him there.

This cynicism is very typical of Chomsky. He says he supports the Palestinian cause, yet he makes best of friends with the zionists. Anything which suits his ego and his selfish interests is good, and if it does not he either ignores it or goes against it. Zionism is , presumably, part of his ego or else it suits his selfish interests, so why go against it?

All of which bring us to his contradictory attitudes to military draft (conscription) in the USA. In an article titled, Noam Chomsky Vs Noam Chomsky, Frank Speiser quotes Chomsky as follows: "I might add, for what it's worth, that although I was actively involved in organizing and supporting resistance (including support for draft resisters) in the 60s, and was saved from a likely prison sentence only by the Tet offensive, I was never opposed to the draft. If there is to be an army, it would be best, I think, for it to be mainly a citizen's army. In part for the reasons that the top command oppose that option."

In a plutocracy like the USA, the centre of world capitalism, there can be no "citizens' army", because the army - be they conscripts or mercenaries - is an instrument of the ruling class, not of the people. As a "guru of the Left" he certainly knows that, or is it, perhaps, his position with MIT that made him advocate compulsory military conscription to the USA army?

Let us return now to his attitudes to zionism. As I mentioned before, Noam Chomsky has been immersed in zionism from the day he was born, and he has never been willing to even attempt to reconsider his zionist outlook. Take, for example, the Zionist theory of the "Jewish nation". It never occurred to him, or to his cronies, that it is a plain zionist propaganda lie, and a big lie at that! There is no "Jewish nation", only a Jewish religion. The first efforts of T. Herzl, the founder political zionism, had not been directed towards the zionist colonisation of Palestine, but to convince his congress "delegates" that they are all part of the "Jewish nation". Why? Because Palestine could have been replaced by another geographic location (like Uganda, for example), whereas it was more important for zionism to show the world that there is a "Jewish nation" that needs a "homeland" where it can establish its own state. When Noam Chomsky visited Australia a few years ago he gave an interview to The Australian Jewish News, the local zionist rag, and this mouthpiece of zionism in Australia was very happy to give the interview a prominent place! Chomsky too was friendly to his zionist host because if it is "the Jewish news", then they are automatically his buddies, even if they fanatical zionists!

On the USA invasion and occupation of Iraq, a colossal war crime against the Arab people of Iraq, Noam Chomsky expressed his support for the zionist-USA plan of "elections". Ghali Hassan, in his excellent article, Iraq Elections And The Liberal Elites: A Response to Noam Chomsky, (www.countercurrents.org), quotes Chomsky as follows:"In Iraq, the January elections were successful and praiseworthy. However, the main success is being reported only marginally: The United States was compelled to allow them to take place. That is a real triumph, not of the bomb-throwers, but of non-violent resistance by the people, secular as well as Islamist, for whom Grand Ayatollah Al Sistani is a symbol".

Commenting on Chomsky's statement Ghali Hassan wrote:"Mr. Chomsky is either completely out of touch with reality in Iraq, or simply ignorantof the legitimate rights of the Iraqi people to self-determination. Firstly, the elections were a farce. The majority of the 14 million eligible Iraqis to vote have boycotted the elections. Since the invasion and Occupation of Iraq, Iraqis have protested and requested immediate free and fair elections, however, the Bush administration ‘stifled, delayed, manipulated and otherwise thwarted the democratic aspiration of the Iraqi people’. The US administration turned down the idea of elections, claiming that technical problems would permit elections in two years at the earliest.Prominent Iraqi politicians and patriots, and UN officials who are familiar with the conditions there immediately refuted this argument. (See note [1] for detail). According to Joachim Guilliard of German Campaign against the Embargo on Iraq, "Another important element of the US strategy was that the elections took place under the 'Transitional Administrative Law (TAL)'" drawn up by pro-Israel US jurists, such as the 32-year old pro-Israel Noah Feldman of New York University."

However, the most obvious zionist orientation of Chomsky can be seen in his attitude to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Thus, for example, his treacherous support for the "Geneva Accord" has been exposed last year by Noah Cohen, in his article, Noam Chomsky and "Left" Apologetics for Injustice in Palestine, (www.ifamericansknew.org) as follows:

"Chomsky's concept of "realism" has a striking resemblance to the colonial discourse of "manifest destiny": Good or bad, right or wrong - so the argument goes - these are the facts on the ground; this is the way of history. In the name of this "realism," activists and intellectuals in the international community have simultaneously asserted themselves as pro-Palestinian, and yet taken it upon themselves to concede every fundamental right to which the Palestinian people lay claim. In pointing to the Geneva Accords as a legitimate compromise, Chomsky concedes all of the following rights on their behalf:

the right to reclaim sovereignty over the land stolen from them in 1948;
the right of refugees even to return to this land;
the right to reclaim the most densely settled land in the West Bank;
the right to freedom of movement within the new Palestinian "state" (since the West Bank settlements - to be declared permanently a part of "Israel" - cut that territory into isolated cantons, and these cantons are in turn separated from Gaza);
the right to full sovereignty over borders and airspace;
the right to maintain an independent military capable of self-defense;
the right to full control of resources.

In general, this means that the "best possible compromise," that promises to "lead to something better," requires first that Palestinians officially concede all of the material conditions on which the right to self-determination depends. It's hard to see how these concessions could possibly lead to "something better."

I had some personal experience with Chomsky's treachery too, when his loyalty to zionism and to the zionist apartheid regime of Israel was exposed to me for the first time. It happened during 1986-7, when the Israeli nuclear whistle-blower, Mordechai Vanunu, was kidnapped by the zionist Gestapo from Europe, where he presented full proof of Israel's underground nuclear bombs factory in Dimona to a London newspaper. Knowing the vengeful methods of the zionist Gestapo I feared for Vanunu's life, and I immediately began to sound the alarm bells by contacting people and organisations to alert them to the impending danger. Soon I managed to make contact with Vanunu's girlfriend, Judy Zimmet, who lived in Boston, and I advised her to contact Noam Chomsky, who lived not far from her place, and ask for his support for Vanunu by demanding his immediate release from the Israeli prison. She reported back to me that she was very disappointed following her meeting with him because he refused to commit himself to do anything for Vanunu. In fact, Noam Chomsky has not done anything to help Vanunu to this day!

Isn't it time the people on the Left, all over the world, wake up to the treachery of Noam Chomsky and his cronies before they inflict more damage on the Left?

Brockmann slams Abbas’s delegation to UN

NEW YORK, (PIC)-- Miguel Brockmann, the head of the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly, expressed Wednesday his disappointment at the UN’s failure to address the Palestinian cause and blamed indirectly the Palestinian delegation, representing the Ramallah authority led by Mahmoud Abbas, for not pushing hard enough in this regard.

This issue was referred to during his last speech before the General Assembly prior to turning his office over to his Libyan successor Ali Triki who opened the 64th session.

“My greatest frustration this year has been the Palestine situation. The question of Palestine continues to be the most serious and prolonged unresolved political and human rights issue on the agenda of the United Nations since its inception,” Brockmann said.

“The evident lack of commitment for resolving it is a scandal that has caused me much sorrow," he added.

“I sincerely believe that I did everything I possibly could in this regard, requesting and attempting to persuade those who should have been most closely involved to call for the convening of the General Assembly to consider the Palestine situation," he insisted.

“I wanted to help Palestine, but those who should supposedly have been most interested [in their national cause] denied their support for reasons of caution that I was incapable of understanding. We face an ugly situation of constant complicity with the aggression against the rights of the noble and long-suffering Palestinian people," he explained.

THE ONE MONTH OLD SILENT HOSTILITY BY PALESTINIAN LEADERS, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ZIONIST GESTAPO'S TORTURE OF MYSELF, MY DAUGHTER AND MY SON

This appeal, in the form of an open letter to all supporters of the Palestinian cause, followed three previous appeals to the Internatinal Committee of Jurists (ICJ), and to all other jurists, asking them to protest the violation of the rule of law in Australia by the zionist Gestapo with the collaboration of ASIO, the Australian secret police.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF AUSTRALIA REGARDING THE WIRETAPPING OF MY PHONE

Article 17 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights states :

“No one shall be subjected to arbitrary or unlawful interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence”.

This open letter to you is to protest the unjustified and illegal violation of my fundamental human right to privacy in that ASIO and/or any other government agency has been wiretapping and recording my phone communications for over 35 years, all in secret and without my consent. In actual fact it is doubtful that ASIO itself does really know what it has been doing to me, and the far reaching implications of those
arbitrary and unlawful wiretappings. My article below provides more details of the true reasons for those wiretappings.

The wiretapping of my phone has been instigated by Israel’s government clandestine arm for the only purpose of harassing and punishing me and my children for my political views, namely, for my opposition as a peace activist to zionism and for my activities for a just peace in the Middle East. Exploiting the good relations between the two governments, it is very likely that the pretext for Israel’s request for wiretapping my phone was given as “national security” or a similar false excuse, rather than the truth which is harassment and punishment of myself and of my children for my political views.

My daughter has been under compulsory psychiatric treatment in Melbourne for 31 years now, and my son for 19 years, and both have been and are still very talented, bright normal adults who have never been in the need of any psychiatric treatment. Their compulsory “treatment”, which has been no more than very dangerous torture, has been instigated and insisted on by that same clandestine arm of the State of Israel. The tapping of my phone conversations allowed the culprits to monitor every move I have made to get my daughter and my son out of the psychiatric trap, and to undermine all my efforts to save them, so much so that their psychiatrists tormentors still refuse to let go of them. The supposedly psychotic symptoms which provide the excuse for their continuous psychiatric torture are actually the results of the potent Antipsychotic drugs they have been forced to consume daily as if “necessary medications“.

THE NIGHTLY TORTURE OF SLEEP DEPRIVATION INFLICTED ON ME BY THE ZIONIST GESTAPO* CONTINUES UNABATED IN MY NEW RESIDENCE TOO

As I managed to find a flat for a reasonable rent in Dandenong, Victoria, Australia, I wrongly believed it would mean an end to my nightly harassment by the zionist Gestapo. The reality, however, is that as soon as I moved in late November, 2008 - beginning from my first night in the new address ! - the nightly harassment by the zionist Gestapo has continued unabated every night by depriving me of the minimal sleep all human beings need to be able to survive and to function. The zionist Gestapo torture experts are very good at it, as they have gained their “skills” by the systematic torture of many thousands of Palestinian political prisoners in occupied Palestine.

This nightly deprivation of my sleep by the zionist Gestapo had began in early 2001, following my return from hospital where a tumour was removed from my colon. Obviously, the purpose of the zionist Gestapo since then has been to kill me by causing the cancer growth in my body to emerge again, or by making my life unbearable, or both. There is no other precedent to such brutality against an
Israeli anti zionist of jewish background, not even in the cases of Israelis who have been imprisoned for “espionage” and/or for “treason” ! Bear in mind also that torturing me has been only the minor brutality in comparison with the long ongoing psychiatric torture of my daughter and of my son here in Australia, psychiatric torture instigated and insisted upon by the zionist Gestapo !

There can be no doubt that the zionist Gestapo has been aided and abated by ASIO, the Australian secret police in mine and my children‘s torture. In my case I know that for sure, following an investigation by two Australian parliamentarians into the refusal to grant me Australian citizenship, more than 30 years ago. It had emerged from their investigations that Asio’s objections on behalf of the zionist Gestapo to approving my application for citizenship was the stumbling block. Moreover, by denial of citizenship to me the zionist Gestapo was preventing me from working as a lawyer here as well as leaving me vulnerable for deportation.

However, the worst part of ASIO’s collaboration with the zionist Gestapo was to let the zionist Gestapo wiretap and record all my phone conversations ( its favourite method of stalking and spying on its victims) which it has been doing to me over the past 40 years. The recent ongoing nightly harassment of myself by the zionist Gestapo proves that, because the only way it could find out immediately my new address and continue without “missing” a single night of my nightly harassment there is by tapping my phone !

This collaboration with and aiding of the zionist Gestapo is not only immoral, it is illegal by Australian law too, and it is a violation of a fundamental human right. MORE ON PALESTINIANS' SILENT COLLABORATION IN TORTURE BY THE ZIONIST GESTAPO

Shock-horror, I’ve just been declared an enemy of Palestine.

A mysterious woman phoned from the embassy. She was furious about the article 'Palestinian embassy in London strangely silent as Israeli terror-strikes and land-grabs continue', which appeared last weekend. I could hear male voices in the background egging her on.

Naturally I’m anxious to behave correctly in this crisis situation. Should I be sobbing my heart out?

Or should I throw a party to celebrate my new status and wear it like a badge of honour? Is there a club I can join?

Being cast into outer darkness by the PLO and Palestinian Authority is a great sadness. They are running out of friends so fast that they really can’t afford to make more enemies.

But never mind, Palestine is not the PLO or the PA. There are still the ordinary Palestinian people, whom I greatly admire for their courage and cheerful resilience. And those guys in Gaza… you know, their democratically elected government who are holed up there and still being blitzed and starved every day along with the 1.5 million population. We dare not speak their name because a gang of criminal lunatics in the West has labelled them terrorists. They represent Palestine too.

Anyway, I just had to drop the Ambassador a line to tell him – as if he didn’t already know – that this ranting female, known to me only as "Linda X", rang from the embassy and I suspect she’s one of his bird-dogs. She accused me of negative criticism and branded me an enemy of Palestine.

I call my remarks fair comment, of course, and they are always accompanied by positive marketing advice.

The Ambassador’s reply sets a new tone in diplomatic language….

I had promised myself not to react to your destructive and negative e-mails, that carry no weight and based on flagrant distortions of the facts about the Palestinian General Delegation. However, I must straighten the records with your extremely biased allegations that are utterly baseless and serves only the interests of our enemy.

He continues in this vein with little regard for facts. To save embarrassment I will not reproduce it all, but here is a snippet.

Firstly, you are not qualified to judge the performance of the Delegation because it is obvious that your little knowledge about our activities is posing a great damage to our ethos and reputation. Secondly, instead of attacking the Ambassador for not appearing enough on radio and television, concert your efforts and skills in extracting interviews for him by putting pressure on your biased Media than accusing the Ambassador and the Delegation….

I still insist to meet you face to face, but it seems you don't have the guts to face the realities….

If the Ambassador and his staff cannot cultivate media contacts and persuade them he’s worth reporting, they should find other employment. How absurd to suggest that I or anyone else should try to fix him up with media interviews.

Yes, we all know the British media are biased. But editors say they receive press releases from the embassy "once in a blue moon". When will it sink in that the Palestinians’ press and PR team must be at least as professional as the Israelis’?

I’m accused of refusing to meet him despite the fact that I have been to the embassy twice. He turned down a further meeting in Cambridge because he decided it was unnecessary, rudely dumping the campaigners (including myself) who invited him. I have offered to meet him again but on reflection can’t think why I should.

He’s right about one thing though. Not being on the diplomatic cocktail circuit or embedded with the ambassadorial retinue I’m in no position to judge at close quarters the activities of the Delegation. All I have is the view from the outside like everyone else… and it’s depressing. Israel is given a free ride and the Palestinian cause deserves far better representation than it is getting.

If the Ambassador cannot see the need for a disciplined media strategy and a website showcasing the desperate plight of the Palestinians and their right to freedom, and take criticism with good grace, perhaps he should return to the gentle academic life of Bethlehem University.

If it’s any consolation, a reader commenting on the article that caused all the fuss has written to say: "How about the Palestinian embassy in Ottawa? It’s even worse than the one in London."

THE INCREDIBLE PALESTINIAN SILENCE IN SUPPORT OF THE ZIONIST GESTAPO'S TORTURE OF MYSELF, MY SON AND MY DAUGHTER CONTINUES INTO THE FOURTH WEEK NOW !

It is now well over 3 weeks since I have published and circulated my first appeal to all supporters of the Palestinian cause, calling for protests against the continued torture of my daughter, my son and myself by the zionist Gestapo.

Except for two protest letters, a total silence has
enfolded my appeal. So much so that Palestinian Mothers website, the only Palestinian website to protest the zionist torture, withdrew the protest and my appeal the next day.

A couple of days ago I have emailed the following letter to Iqbal Tamimi, the editor of the Palestinian Mothers website, a website that had published my appeal, and protested the outrageous torture,
but I have had no reply so far.

I have tried to contact you and your website before, but only today did I find your email address. Would you be kind enough so as to answer my following questions :

1. What was the reason that my two posts - my appeal and my final appeal - were suddenly deleted from your Palestinian Mothers website ? Have I done anything wrong ?

2. My article/post below was published on my blog the same day that my above posts were deleted. Would you please comment on it ?

Since my first appeal I have published and circulated 7 articles/posts as a reminder of my first appeal to supporters of the Palestinian cause, but all have been drowned in that deafening and hostile silence. MORE ON THE MEANING OF SOLIDARITY AND ON PALESTINIAN COLLABORATION WITH THE ZIONIST ENEMY

I have been a peace activist and a supporter of the Palestinian cause for some 55 years, 40 years of them as anti-zionist.

During the past 46 years I have been harassed by the zionist Gestapo, my daughter subjected by the zionist Gestapo to compulsory psychiatric torture for the past 31 years, my son too for the past 19 years. I have been subjected to ongoing nightly sleep deprivation torture by the zionist Gestapo since January 2001.

All this personal history was not enough, apparently, for Palestinians leaders and influential intellectuals to consider me as a comrade in struggle who deserves their solidarity in return for mine. I say "apparently" because I was never given any reason for their silent collaboration with the zionist Gestapo against me, same as the zionist Gestapo never gave me any reason for torturing me ,my daughter and my son.

This treachery ,coming from the people to whose cause I committed most of my adult life ,was a painful riddle to me for some years now, but not any longer. It is clear to me now that Palestinian leaders and intellectuals have got a different interpretation for the meaning of terms like solidarity, comradeship in struggle, honesty etc.

The zionist military occupation of Palestine has been a very brutal one, because its purpose has been to ethnic cleanse the entire population, and to kill those who resist. This brutal occupation has deliberately made life increasingly very hard, if not impossible, for the entire civilian population. Therefore the zionist crushing monster seems so powerful against the powerless oppressed Palestinians that their leaders and influential intellectuals have imitated their oppressors to get the illusion of power for themselves. Another result is enhanced selfish and parochial mentality, with loyalty to the clan, and obedience to the clan chief for the purpose of self preservation. Consequently, the national leaders are dealing with clan chiefs rather than with their oppressed people.

Under such circumstances the meaning of solidarity is a selfish one sided demand rather than mutual help for the national and for any international cause. Thus, for example, a few years ago I have donated out of my meager savings 1000A$ to a Palestinian organisation named Badil in the West Bank. I did it as an act of solidarity with them, because their director defended the cause of Palestinian refugees and promoted the BDS call by Civil Society. However, unbeknowned to me he about the same time married a European who was an admirer of Norman Finkelstein, the zionist impostor. Using her newly appointed job as the new Badil director she publicised , to my horror, a debate between Finkelstein and another zionist. I then immediately emailed to her an article I wrote which was based on an article by USA Palestinian exposing the treachery of Finkelstein but she refused to publicise it.

The worst case of violating my solidarity occured very recently, of course, when I wrote and publicised my open letter to all supporters of the Palestinian cause asking them to protest the torture of my daughter, my son and myself by the zionist Gestapo here in Australia. Except for one protest there was a deafening silence,no response to it from any Palestinian nor from any other supporters of the Palestinian cause . Worse still, when the Palestinian Mothers website published my appeal for solidarity, it had to withdraw my appeal the next day , following pressure from some Palestinian boss who follows a predetermined silent collaboration with the zionist Gestapo.

IS THE ZIONIST NOAM CHOMSKY CABAL BEGINNING TO DISINTEGRATE ?

Norman Finkelstein considers himself a doctor of political science, and he has that ridiculous official title too ; he also considers himself an expert on zionism too ; yet all that great knowledge does not stop him from keeping his loyalty to zionism, and his loyalty to Noam Chomsky, his mentor. In fact, Chomsky seems to consider Finkelstein as a kind of deputy, a second in command of his cabal, who would replace him as head of the cabal in the future.

Until yesterday, the 7th of September, I was the only supporter of the Palestinian cause who had dared to expose Finkelstein as a zionist impostor, and amongst Palestinian intellectuals his position as a trusted and respected "friend" was rock solid. Now, two new articles were published which criticise him - and by authors who claim to have respected him ! - under the title , "2 Views on Norman Finkelstein putting Zionism off limits in the debate", on the following website : palestinethinktank.com/2009/09/07/2-views-on-norman-finkelsteins-putting-zionism-off-limits-in-the-debate/ challenging his zionist views, his intellectual integrity, and hopefully his future position amongst the Palestinian intellectuals who have trusted him and admired his "scholarship" along with that of Noam Chomsky's for many years.

The first article, by an author named Saja, reports on a recent meeting where Finkelstein gave a speech. Here is an excerpt from the first paragraph of the article :

" He said that while his PhD dissertation was about Zionism, we should not get into "ideological conversations about who is a Zionist." What mattered was focusing on stances on torture and house demolitions. He also advised that Palestinians be "reasonable" and consider compensation instead of their full rights ( meaning the right of the Palestinian refugees to return ; emphasis added by me B.M.)."

The author says that during question time he challenged him both on zionism and on the Palestinian refugees issues,and then "Finkelstein became angry (and) insisted that we not engage in "Starbucks discussions" about Zionism! He referred to Chomsky as an example of someone who should not be considered an enemy in spite of their Zionism. Then he referred to the Palestinian academic sitting next to him who said he agreed with Finkelstein; that Arab nationalism was no longer useful; and that he even supported a Kurdish state! "

The second article is by Michelle Kinnucan, an independent American scholar ,and a genuine supporter of the Palestinian cause.She is now a Veteran for Peace and a co-coordinator of the Ann Arbor Bill of Rights Defense Committee. She has been also on the Committee for the Defence of the exemplary American physician, Dr. Catherine Wilkerson, who has been persecuted and threatened by zionists because of her support for the Palestinian cause.

Despite her genuine anti-zionist stand Michelle, like many other Americans on the Left, has been misled by false zionist and imperialist propaganda to believe that there is such a thing "Zionist Left", while in reality there are only zionists and fanatical zionists.

Here is what she states :

"... Finkelstein is himself functionally a Zionist of the Left-liberal persuasion.

He does untold harm to the Palestinian people and the justice and peace movement by peddling his 'softer' but disguised Zionism to his adoring fans in the cloak of "the international consensus," etc. This makes him much more dangerous to the Palestinian solidarity movement than people like Netanyahu or Dershowitz because so many folks are unable or disinclined to see past the impressive surface to the heart of Finkelstein's pro-Zionist discourse."

She then goes on to challenge Finkelstein on several fronts to expose his zionist treachery. Thus, for example, on the "2 states solution" which Finkelstein and Chomsky strongly support, Michelle put it to him :

"Why do you not acknowledge that the "two-state solution," aside from being arguably unworkable now, is the very epitome of apartheid and that the global South African anti-apartheid campaign provides us with the applicable legal and moral precedent? Why don't you just avoid the "sterile debate" of one vs. two-state by embracing the goals of the Palestinian BDS campaign? They are:

1. Ending Israel's occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantling the Wall;
2. Recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and
3. Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194."

She concludes her article by pointing out the outrageous self righteousness of the zionist propaganda to cover up zionist war crimes and zionist crimes against humanity as follows :

"This righteous fury is a constant phenomenon in the Israeli, and before that Zionist, dispossession of Palestine. Every act whether it was ethnic cleansing, occupation, massacre or destruction was always portrayed as morally just and as a pure act of self-defense reluctantly perpetrated by Israel in its war against the worst kind of human beings. … Today in Israel, from Left to Right, from Likud to Kadima , from the academia to the media, one can hear this righteous fury of a state that is more busy than any other state in the world in destroying and dispossessing an indigenous population.(Emphasis added -B.M.)

It is crucial to explore the ideological origins of this attitude and derive the necessary political conclusions from its prevalence. This righteous fury shields the society and politicians in Israel from any external rebuke or criticism. But far worse, it is translated always into destructive policies against the Palestinians. With no internal mechanism of criticism and no external pressure, every Palestinian becomes a potential target of this fury. Given the firepower of the Jewish state it can inevitably only end in more massive killings, massacres and ethnic cleansing.

The self-righteousness is a powerful act of self-denial and justification. It explains why the Israeli Jewish society would not be moved by words of wisdom, logical persuasion or diplomatic dialogue. And if one does not want to endorse violence as the means of opposing it, there is only one way forward: challenging head-on this righteousness as an evil ideology meant to cover human atrocities. Another name for this ideology is Zionism and an international rebuke for Zionism, not just for particular Israeli policies, is the only way of countering this self-righteousness. We have to try and explain not only to the world, but also to the Israelis themselves, that Zionism is an ideology that endorses ethnic cleansing, occupation and now massive massacres. What is needed now is not just a condemnation of the present massacre but also delegitimization of the ideology that produced that policy and justifies it morally and politically. Let us hope that significant voices in the world will tell the Jewish state that this ideology and the overall conduct of the state are intolerable and unacceptable and as long as they persist, Israel will be boycotted and subject to sanctions.

MORE ON THE CONSEQUENCES OF TRUSTING AND EMBRACING THE ZIONIST TROJAN HORSE BY PALESTINIAN LEADERS AND INTELLECTUALS

Another example is Chomsky and Avnery's dodging of the inalienable right of the Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and lands, is now in the process of being accepted by the PA, as part of the "2 states solution".

Are Some Palestinian Intellectuals and Leaders on a Self-Destruction Course ?

On the 6th of September (Melbourne time) I discovered two of my late posts, namely,my appeal to supporters of the Palestinian cause, as well as my final appeal, were republished by a Palestinian website, the Palestinian Mothers website. It was a rather pleasant surprise, because I did not email to them the posts, so they must have copied them from my autpobiography blog. They must have been correctly outraged to read about the torture of myself, my daughter and my son by the zionist Gestapo in Australia, because they had added a rather large swastika insignia with the zionist David Star on top of it under the posts' title. It was a real act of solidarity by this important Palestinian website !

However, my joy did not last long, because today, when I clicked on the same link to the posts - http://www.palestinianmothers.com/profiles/blogs/benjamin-merhav-amp-family - my posts have vanished! Instead there was this notice :

"Our apologies – this page was not found"

Obviously, some leader or influential Palestinian intellectual has ordered the immediate removal of my posts.

Consider this, an act of solidarity by a Palestinian website with a supporter of the Palestinian cause who with his daughter and son have been tortured by the zionist Gestapo, an ongoing daily torture for many years, has been met with open hostility by Palestinian leaders and/or influential Palestinian intellectuals !

Why this anti-Palestinian action which serves only the zionist apartheid regime of Israel, the mortal enemy of the Palestinian people?

Let us therefore take a closer look at zionism, the ideology of the zionist apartheid regime of Israel.

Modern zionism was founded by Theodore Herzl, a megalomaniacal Hungarian journalist of Jewish background. He, and the zionist chieftains that followed him, focused on transforming the identity of Jewish religion worshippers ( or those considered as such) into a national identity. The forming of a Jewish nation was the preoccupation of zionist leaders for many years after the death of Herzl in 1904. Herzl's idea was to create a Jewish nation, then claim Palestine ( "Zion") as a "homeland" of that Jewish nation, then establish a zionist empire in the Middle East. This has been and remains the foundation of the zionist ideology.

Consequently this state of affairs provides effective testing means to tell who is a zionist and therefore an enemy, and who is a genuine anti-zionist and a geuine friend. Any person of Jewish background who is not religious yet identifies as "Jew", must be a zionist because only zionists claim to belong to the "Jewish nation".Conversely, any person of Jewish background who is anti-zionist must reject the zionist big lie of the "Jewish nation". This testing means is very important for any patriotic Palestinian who needs to know who is a genuine friend and who is an impostor who purports to be a friend but is part of the enemy camp in reality.

Some Palestinians have wrongly abandoned the very important need to reject as enemies any zionists. Worse still, they avoid the use of the word zionism to identify the enemy ideology and its supporters, as if zionism is no longer relevant. The culprit for that has been Noam Chomsky and his cabal who very rarely use the word. Indeed, they have never declared themselves as anti-zionists. How can then anybody be considered a friend and supporter of the Palestinian cause without such a person opposing and condemning zionism ?

Furthermore, the past of both Noam Chomsky and of Uri Avnery is full of evidence of their loyalty to zionism and to the zionist apartheid regime of Israel. Both supported enthusiastically the zionist war of ethnic cleansing, namely, the Nakba of 1948. Both supported the June 1967 zionist aggression and invasion of Arab lands. Both oppose comprehensive international sanctions against the zionist apartheid regime of Israel. Both oppose the unconditional return of all the Palestinian refugees to their homes. Both support the "2 states solution" which will leave intact the zionist apartheid regime of Israel.

MORE ON THE DISASTER SOME PALESTINIAN INTELLECTUALS BRING ON THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE‏

My 18th August appeal to supporters of the Palestinian cause, under the title, The Deafening Silence of The Palestinian Cause Supporters, opens as follows :

"I am overwhelmed by the silence which followed my OPEN LETTER TO ALL SUPPORTERS OF THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE‏‏, emailed to hundreds of them on the 16th of August (Melbourne time). Of particular surprise is the silence of Palestine supporters in Australia, some half a dozen websites of whom have been on my mailing list. Is it not clear that allowing the zionist Gestapo to terrorise me, my son, and my daughter is green light for it and for its ASIO partners to act similarly against all genuine supporters of the Palestinian cause in Australia, and perhaps even worldwide ?

Is it not clear that myself, my daughter and my son have been punished by the zionist Gestapo because of my strong support for the Palestinian cause - as anti-zionist Israeli of Jewish background - during the past 40 years ? Is it not clear that ASIO collaboration with this zionist terrorism against Australian citizens - thus violating the rule of law in Australia - will extend to zionist terrorism against all supporters of Palestine in Australia, as a result of their silence ? "

Those that are responsible for that silence conspiracy have thought, perhaps, of throwing only me to the zionist mad dogs, but they are in effect throwing with me, my daughter and my son,also the Palestinian cause to the zionist mad dogs. This is because added to the green light they signal to the zionist Gestapo to continue our torture,they also open wide the gate for the zionist Trojan horse to be brought into the Palestinian citadel. That Trojan horse has got its belly full of zionist impostors - Noam Chomsky and his cabal, Uri Avnery and his cabal - armed with lies and pretences and ready to ruin the Palestinian citadel from within.

I suspect that at the bottom of this disastrous attitude by some influential Palestinian intellectuals is the reverence instilled in themselves for any "academic scholars" like Noam Chomsky, Norman Finkelstein, Jeff Halper, Ran Hacohen,Neve Gordon and others in Chomsky's zionist cabal; and for zionist "peace activists" in general, like Uri Avnery and and his zionist cabal in the Gush Shalom organisation. Such reverence is wrong ,of course, and has no justification in reality, as we shall see below.

Tertiary education in Western countries like the USA is controlled and financed by big business. As a result, only what is in the interest of big business is allowed to be taught.

Another result is the distortion of science by Big Pharma and by other corporations in the teaching of medicine and other branches of science. However, nowhere are the distortions as obvious and ridiculous as in the so called "humanities" fields, such as economy,history, politics, law,etc. The most ridiculous and most conspicuous distortions are the titles "Political Science" ,and "political scientists" bestowed on those that pass the exams. Obviously, politics is contrary to science ! Thus, the politics of the oppressors are always in opposition to the politics of the oppressed, and the politics of the rulers are against the politics of the people ! What has the study of politics to do with science ? Nothing !

Yet, the world rulers popularised the false notion that "eduction" brings power to the people. Here, in Australia, there have been big propaganda campaigns to extoll the virtue of reading of books, while 95% of the books in most public libraries are cultural trash made up of trivia, lies and nonsense. Occupied Palestine has been the victim of similar propaganda which extols uncritically the "virtue" of academic studies in the USA and other Western countries.

Hence the Palestinian reverence for "scholars" like Noam Chomsky, Norman Finkelstein and their zionist cabals. Consequently, whenever I have exposed them as zionist impostors, I brought down on me the anger of those influential Palestinian intellectuals who admired them for their "scholarship" and for purporting to support the Palestinian cause.

In the case of Uri Avnery and his cabal there has been established, it seems, a tradition of collaboration between the zionists who purport to seek peace and the Palestinian leaders and intellectuals. The Palestinians who have fallen into the trap have forgotten (or have been unwilling) to check the anti-zionist credentials of their "peace seeking" zionist impostors.

My final appeal to supporters of the Palestinian cause

This is the third and last appeal to supporters of the Palestinian cause. The ongoing torture of myself, my daughter and my son has not abated, yet the Palestinian cause supporters have not responded to my previous appeals for solidarity action.

Only one out of hundreds of Palestine supporters who received my messages has expressed solidarity and has taken positive action to help.
This is a disaster for the Palestinian cause, not just for the three of us victims of zionist terrorism.

Why would supporters of the Palestinian cause behave in such a disastrous manner that would benefit only the zionist Gestapo and the zionist apartheid regime of Israel ? I mean even by paying those supporters, namely, by giving them bribes the zionist Gestapo could not hope for a better service !

Let us check the logic of it again.

The zionist Gestapo has subjected Benjamin Merhav to ongoing nightly torture for 9 years, his daughter subjected to psychiatric torture for 31 years, and his son for 19 years, and the shrinks won't let go of them ! This is without precedent not only among Israelis but even amongst Palestinians ! The only exceptions are the Palestinians who actively resist the zionist occupation, therefore considered dangerous by the zionist Gestapo. Moreover, amongst all the Palestinians who live outside occupied Palestine there is not a single one - not even one supporter of the Palestinian cause ! - who has been punished by the zionist Gestapo as myself, my daughter and my son have been !

The logical riddle is,of course, this : do those supporters of the Palestinian
cause wish to help the zionist Gestapo terrorist actions against me, against my daughter and against my son so as to crush us to death by ignoring our plight and by ignoring zionist terrorism ? If so, how can they reconcile such an attitude with their alleged opposition to zionism and to the zionist apartheid state ?

It is not too late to respond to this, my final appeal, and I therefore call again each one of you, as a group and as individuals, to show your solidarity with us and your outrage at the injustice perpetrated against us by protesting to ICJ Australia, and to ICJ internationally, and in particular to Mr. Raji Sourani, PCHR director.

OPEN LETTER TO ALL SUPPORTERS OF THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE‏‏
Hi,

I type this letter as a last resort, and with a heavy heart. As all of you know, I have been subjected to Zionist Gestapo torture by sleep deprivation every night for some 9 years now, ever since my return from hospital where a cancer tumour had been removed from my colon.

In addition, the Zionist Gestapo has subjected my daughter to psychiatric torture for over 31 years, and my son for over 19 years now. The purpose of turturing the three of us by the Zionist Gestapo is to kill us in the most painful manner.

Although all three of us are innocent of any illegal or any wrong doing, we are punished for my strong opposition to Zionism and to the Zionist apartheid regime of Israel . As you would have concluded by now from reading my 76 open letters to the current Attorney-General of Australia, my complaints to him, including the violations of the rule of law by ASIO, have been rejected, while the ongoing torture of all the three of us continues to damage our well being and health and to subject us to the risks of death as a result. Copies of my open letters have been emailed to government ministers, including the PM, as well as to Labor and to Green members of the federal parliament, but they all ignored my complaints.

My 3 appeals to the International Commision of Jurists, and to many prominent jurists in Australia and elsewhere, have been ignored too so far (see my previous post on this blog ).

Amongst those prominent Australian jurists is former High Court judge, former ICJ President, and current Honorary ICJ member , Mr. Michael Kirby. Here is what the international ICJ site says about him :

"Michael D. Kirby, Australia Justice Kirby was elected an Honorary Member in 2002. He served on the Executive Committee from 1992 to 1995 and as President of the ICJ from 1995 to 1998. Justice Kirby was originally elected to the Commission in 1984." I have had no reply from him so far.

Amongst the overseas jurists I appealed to were two current members of the international ICJ Executive Committee: Prof. Robert Goldman, former ICJ President, and Mr. Raji Sourani , Director of PCHR, and ICJ Executive Committee member.

That Prof. Goldman did not reply can be explained by his sympathy with Zionism and with the Zionist apartheid regime of Israel, but why Raji Sourani ? As a Palestinian, particularly as the head of the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), he sure should have demanded the urgent consideration of my appeal by the ICJ ! Instead, he choose to ignore my appeal like Prof. Goldman and the other jurists did !

MY THIRD APPEAL to the International Commission of Jurists ,TO ALL JURISTS AND TO ALL HONEST DEMOCRATS

Below are copies of my appeals to ICJ Australia functionaries emailed to them 2 weeks ago and one week ago respectively. So far I have had no reply from any of them, despite the urgency of my appeals.

Copies of my appeals had been emailed to various other leading members of ICJ, including Mary Robinson, former president of Ireland,and current President of the ICJ, Prof. Robert Goldman, and Mr. Raji Sourani , Director of PCHR, both ICJ Executive Committee members. So far I have had no reply from any of them.

My open letters to the Attorney-General of Australia, the first of which was emailed to him more than 8 months ago, regarding zionist terrorism and violations of the rule of law by ASIO, have been rejected, while I have continued daily to email to him my open letters (my 76th open letter can be located on this blog http://5thautobiography.blogspot.com/).

MY SECOND APPEAL to the International Commission of Jurists ,TO ALL JURISTS AND TO ALL HONEST DEMOCRATS.

Shortly after my first letter to ICJ Australia President the Welcome Page has vanished from ICJ Australia website. Of great importance and of particular relevance is the passage I emphasized in red when quoting that Welcome Page . It reads :

"ICJ Australia calls on all lawyers and other jurists in Australia and around the world to use their specialised knowledge and expertise to forthrightly promote the inalienable rights of all people that can only be truly protected through the rule of law."

This quotation, as well as the rest of the Welcome page, have been the essence of the ICJ formation and the very reason for its continued existence. So why did the leaders of ICJ Australia decide now to delete this Welcome Page from the ICJ website now ? Do they mean to state that they no longer object to violations of the rule of law in Australia , and that victims of such violations are no longer welcome by ICJ Australia ?

It is now more than a week since ICJ Australia President got my first letter to him, but so far I have had no reply from him. Why ? Is he hostile to me for complaing against violations of the rule of law in Australia by ASIO ? If so, why would he not have the courtesy to explain that in a reply to my letter ?

I ask the ICJ Australia leaders to make their position clear to all Australians, and without delay. In my own, my daughter's and my son's cases I wish to remind them that at stake is our very survival which continues to be threatened by zionist terrorism against us !

Above all for your attention is the contempt of ASIO for the rule of law, and its insolent disregard for my complaints, as if it is above the law and unaccountable.

I therefore ask you to urgently protest these violations of the rule of law by ASIO in Australia, and to make your protest known to the Attorney-General and to the Prime Minister of Australia.

MY 76th OPEN LETTER TO THE ATTORNEY-GENERAL OF AUSTRALIA

Re: My complaint against the illegal nightly harassment (torture by sleep deprivation), as well as the insistence on the continued psychiatric torture of my daughter and of my son, by Israel's clandestine arm (the zionist Gestapo) here in Australia.

Thank you for your letter of reply, dated 2 July, which I received by mail on the 6th of July.

Your letter concerns only my complaint against ASIO for wiretapping my phone at the behest of the zionist Gestapo, an obviously illegal activity for which I have solid proof. However, trusting your assurance that your department is on guard against such unlawful activity, and that an "investigation into a serious offence" takes place before a warrant ( for the wiretapping) is issued, I thank you for ending that illegal wiretapping of my phone.

There remains the complaint of zionist terrorism against me and against my daughter and my son by the zionist Gestapo here in Melbourne. As you conclude your letter by stating that you "cannot assist (me) further with (my) complaint" it comes as a shock to me. Secondly, because ASIO which aids and abets this zionist terrorism in Australia, rather than stop it, and does it without being accountable (and with the collusion of the Inspector-General), makes a mockery of the rule of law in Australia, as well as victimising myself , my daughter and my son !

Such a situation is unthinkable in a country where the rule of law prevails, such as this country, Australia. As Australian citizens, myself and my daughter and son are entitled to the protection of the law ! Surely, this federal government would not let a foreign government terrorize Australian citizens here, on Australian soil !

[Occupied East Jerusalem] Last Sunday morning just before sunrise, Israeli forces evicted seventy more Palestinians from their homes in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, which is being taken over by the Nahalat Shimon settlers.

"The events in Sheikh Jarrah garnered international censure from the European Union, the United Nations (UN) and from Britain, which said it was 'appalled' at the move. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday night called the Israeli evictions "deeply regrettable" and she urged "the government of Israel and municipal officials to refrain from such provocative actions." [1]

Israeli forces also demolished the Al-Kurd family protest tent for the sixth time. The Al-Kurd family was evicted from their home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood last November, just prior to my first visit and I returned again on June 10, 2009.

Less than a five minute walk from my room at the Ambassador Hotel and less than ten from the Old City of Jerusalem is the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah. Around the corner from my hotel and up the hill from the Al-Kurd Tent is a newly erected community center with a plaque "Dedicated to the Children of Shimon Hazadik Neighborhood" from a Dr. Rubin Brecher and family of Lawrence, New York.

According to Jewish tradition, Shimon Hazadik (which means 'The righteous') was the High Priest at the time of Alexander the Great. He reminded the people of what's important in the world and he used to say: "On three things the world stands: the Torah, on Service [prayer] and on acts of kindness."[2]

Mrs. Al-Kurd, known as Um Kamal [mother of Kamal] and her now deceased husband Mohammed had lived in the neighborhood from 1956 until the morning of November 9, 2008 when the Israeli police enforced a court order that evicted them.

When I returned to the tent on June 10, 2009 and asked Um Kamal where her calm strength and perpetual smile came from, she gestured to the sky and responded, "Allah: God gives me."

Maher Hannoun interjected, "Um Kamal is a strong woman because she has a strong connection to this land where we both were born! Even for millions of dollars we would never sell our land, our hopes, our dreams! We are here legally and we have a contract that was signed between the government and UNWRRA, but what gives us the real power to fight is seeing all the people who come to be with us here believing in human rights. We need every one to carry our message around the world that this is our home and we will never leave here.

"In Gaza they attacked with F16 tanks. In Jerusalem they attack with evictions and transferring property. More than 500 homes in this neighborhood have already received eviction notices. They are building 200 settler units and an American Israeli company named Nahalat Shimon Builders is behind it."

Nahalat Shimon is also the name of a settler group and a real estate company.

On August 2, 2009, "Israeli riot police wielding clubs kicked out two Palestinian families from their homes in occupied east Jerusalem on Sunday, defying international protests over Jewish settlement activity in the area. Clashes erupted after police moved in at dawn around the homes in the upmarket Arab district of Sheikh Jarrah following an Israeli court decision ordering the eviction of the 53 Palestinians, including 19 minors.

“I was born in this house and so were my children,” said Maher Hanoun, whose family was evicted along with the neighboring Ghawi household. “Now we are on the streets. We have become refugees.”

"The Supreme Court ordered the evictions following an appeal by the Nahalat Shimon International settler group which claimed Jewish settlers have title deeds for the properties, despite UN and Palestinian denials. Jerusalem authorities have also given permission for the construction of about 20 housing units in Sheikh Jarrah, in defiance of global calls for a halt to all settlement activity in occupied east Jerusalem and the West Bank." [3]

On November 9, 2008, at 3:30 AM, Reverend Richard Toll was awakened in his hotel room in the Ambassador while the Israeli Occupying Forces/IOF broke down the door of the home of the Al Khurd family. Rev. Toll informed me that he was jarred awake by a woman’s pain filled scream that was indescribable.

The Al Khurd family had lived in their home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood since the days when east Jerusalem was under Jordanian control. The United Nations upon contract with Jordan allotted them the land after they became refugees when they were expelled from their home in west Jerusalem by Zionists during the 1948 war.

Hasib Nashashibi, of the Ensan Center for Democracy and Human Rights [an NGO coalition of Palestinian Muslim and Christians] explained to me, “When Jordan controlled this land and the UN granted privileges to the Palestinian refugees including those from west Jerusalem, such as education, health care, and relief and development; they also allowed the refugees to give up not all privileges and receive a home and land deed instead. Jordan never fulfilled their obligation to send the written documentation that these west Jerusalem refugees are land owners and not tenants. Now the Israeli’s are trying to make them refugees for the second time!”

Since East Jerusalem’s occupation by Israel in 1967, the Oriental Jews Associations and the Knesseth Yisrael Association have been waging a brutal take over of the Khurds’ home, claiming that the land originally belonged to Jews.

In 1972, they succeeded to register the land in their name with the Israeli Land registrar. In 1999, settlers burst into the home and set up an occupation in a wing of the house that belonged to the couple’s son, Raed. The Khurd family hired lawyers and have spent a fortune in court battles and in 2006, the Israeli court finally revoked the claim of ownership by the settlers. However, on February 25, 2007 the Israeli Supreme Court issued an order to evict the settlers but it was never enforced!

In Israeli law, all of Jerusalem, including the eastern half of the city, is considered to be the “indivisible” capital of the Jewish state and religiously fundamentalist settlers have been claiming land all over occupied East Jerusalem based on title deeds that pre-existed 1948.

Since Israel became a state 531 Palestinian villages have been destroyed and 750,000 Palestinians were made refugees in 1948, and Israeli continues to make more!

President George W. Bush became a willing collaborator in this on going injustice in his infamous 2004 exchange of letters with Ariel Sharon. Bush agreed that Israel would not be expected to return to the armistice lines of 1949 and declared that Israel would be able to hold on to its “population centers” in the West Bank. This is nothing more than Orwellian spin that attempts to justify the established settlement blocs for every one of them are illegal under international law.

"Michshol Hafrada" is Hebrew for "The Separation Wall" and separation translates to Apartheid in Afrikaan.

The Wall has divided Palestinians from Palestinians and has stolen their aquifers, denies them access to their land, jobs, families and holy sites and for every mile it consumes over $1.25 Million USA Tax dollars.

The Wall was deemed illegal by the International Court of Justice but no president has yet demanded Israel to tear down this wall!

The so called Holy Land is a Swiss cheese of land locked enclaves; known as Bantustans in Afrikaan. Jewish only colonies have been implanted to divide the Palestinian neighborhoods throughout occupied territory. Over 100,000 Palestinians are trapped and then daily humiliated and tortured at the over 600 checkpoints that deny them access to their families, land, jobs, resources and holy sites.

Since 1967, over 22,000 dwellings -averaging eleven people per unit- have been bulldozed by Israeli forces usually because they interfere with settlement expansion.

Israel attempts to justify their immoral actions with three distinct categories:

1. Collective Punishment: Homes of suspected terrorists-in reality that is anyone who opposes the occupation- as well as the families of suicide/homicide bombers.

These punitive actions amount to 15% of the over 22,000 homes destroyed since 1967.

2. Administrative demolitions for lack of building permits: Israel refuses to issue any and this accounts for 25%. In occupied east Jerusalem one out of four Palestinian homes have a demolition order.

3. Security: The blanket reason given for all of Israel’s injustices and illegal actions.

On December 20, 2006, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who received a Nobel Peace Prize for his relentless work confronting and challenging South Africa's Apartheid regime was quoted in The Guardian: "I've been deeply distressed in my visit to the Holy Land. I have seen the humiliation at the checkpoints and roadblocks, suffering like us when young white police officers prevented us from moving about…Israel will never get true security and safety through oppressing another people. A true peace can ultimately be built only on justice…If peace could come to South Africa, surely it can come to the Holy Land."

I imagine Shimon Hazadik might remind "the children" who are taking over the neighborhood that,"From Moses to Jeremiah and Isaiah, the Prophets taught...that the Jewish claim on the land of Israel was totally contingent on the moral and spiritual life of the Jews who lived there, and that the land would, as the Torah tells us, 'vomit you out' if people did not live according to the highest moral vision of Torah. Over and over again, the Torah repeated its most frequently stated mitzvah [command]:

"When you enter your land, do not oppress the stranger; the other, the one who is an outsider of your society, the powerless one and then not only 'you shall love your neighbor as yourself' but also 'you shall love the other.'" [4]

I also imagine Shimon Hazadik might be interested- as we all should- in knowing from whom and where the money comes from that equips the Nahalat Shimon settlers.

Thank you for your letter of reply, dated 2 July, which I received by mail on the 6th of July.

Your letter concerns only my complaint against ASIO for wiretapping my phone at the behest of the zionist Gestapo, an obviously illegal activity for which I have solid proof. However, trusting your assurance that your department is on guard against such unlawful activity, and that an "investigation into a serious offence" takes place before a warrant ( for the wiretapping) is issued, I thank you for ending that illegal wiretapping of my phone.

There remains the complaint of zionist terrorism against me and against my daughter and my son by the zionist Gestapo here in Melbourne. This remains a very serious complaint, because those terrorist activities are, in fact, attempts on our lives ( see, for example, this medical report regarding the fatal consequences of sleep deprivation : http://18thoutlawpsychiatry.blogspot.com/2009/07/more-on-killing-treatment-of-state.html).

As you conclude your letter by stating that you "cannot assist (me) further with (my) complaint" it comes as a shock to me. Secondly, because ASIO which aids and abets this zionist terrorism in Australia, rather than stop it, and does it without being accountable (and with the collusion of the Inspector-General), makes a mockery of the rule of law in Australia, as well as victimising myself , my daughter and my son !

Such a situation is unthinkable in a country where the rule of law prevails, such as this country, Australia. As Australian citizens, myself and my daughter and son are entitled to the protection of the law ! Surely, this federal government would not let a foreign government terrorize Australian citizens here, on Australian soil !

Yesterday July 8 2009 at noon, about 40 ultra-orthodox jewish squatters, the Israeli terrorists generally known as "Siknaj", attacked the tent of the Al-Ghawi family and beat and wounded four members of these families, who were forcibly expelled from their own house on last 2 August 2009.
The criminal settlers, or "Siknaj", were wearing black talars and hats, and used stones, sticks, and chairs in their criminal attack. The victims were three children aged between 10 – 13 and a woman. One of them was left bleeding in critical condition.

Naser Al-Gawi, one of those robbed of his house by the israeli government, said that a large detachment of Israeli police came to the place of the assault, and that rather than preventing the criminal attacks of the Siknaj, they protected them and arrested Khaled Al- Gawi, aged 40, another victim of the israeli theft. Al-Gawi denied that his family had provoked the Siknaj settlers. He said that the settlers wanted to remove their tents, which they set up near their houses, which are now occupied by the siknaj. He confirmed that he will not leave the area until he is able to return to his house.

On August 2 2009, the Israeli criminal forces forcibly terrorized and expelled two Palestinian families, Al-Gawi and Hannoun from their houses in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem after they demolished the gates of the houses (11 houses, eight houses belong to Aberd Al-Fattah Hannoun and his sons, and three houses belong to Maher Hannoun and his brothers), and forced the families to get out under the threat of murdering them. The criminal armed Israeli police pointed their guns at the civilians and denied them the right to take the necessary things for their children, or to remove from their furniture and other belongings.

Few hours after the Palestinian family’s expulsion, a truck of ultra orthodox jews, Siknaj, came to live in the Palestinian houses. The Siknaj and the criminal forces of Israel threw the furniture of the two families out of their homes and moved their belonging of the Siknaj to the Palestinian houses, while the Israeli police stood to guard to protect them from any attempt from the Palestinian families to recover their property. Before that, on November 2008, the Israeli military border police forcibly expelled Mahmoud Al-Kurd, an old paralyzed man on a wheelchair, his wife Fawzia, Um Kamel, and their five children and their families, from their home in Sheikh Jarrah in the East of Jerusalem.

Mohammed Al-Kurd had lived in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood from 1956 until the morning of November 9, 2008 when the Israeli police enforced a court order that evicted them. Few days after this expulsion, Mahmoud Al-Kurd died of heart attack in his protest tent in the neighborhood of his house. The criminal Israeli Zionist organization police has since then destroyed the tent of the Al-Kurd family several times.

The Vice President of the European Parliament, Luisa Morgantini, had sent a letter for Al-Kurd family after their expulsion from their house in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem . She wrote:

Dear all,

you may remember that last Thursday during the plenary session we passed a urgency resolution on the expulsion of the Al Kurd family from the house they bought and lived in since 1956 in East Jerusalem. A group of extremist settlers claimed ownership to that house and 26 other houses in the same neighbourhood, on the basis of an Ottoman title deed dating from 1880, the authenticity of which is doubtful and which is also disputed by United States. The project of the Jewish associations is to build 200 hundreds colonial units that will replace the Palestinian homes.

Mohammed Kamal Al Kurd the husband of Umm Kamal did not survive, yes he was already ill, but the expulsion from the house, and the destruction by the Israeli police of the tents were they were staying after being expelled from their home , has been unbearable to him. He died in the Hospital.

Currently, a total of around 28 Palestinian families of East Jerusalem face Israeli expulsion from their homes in Al- Shiekh Jarrah neighborhood. The Palestinian families had lived in their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood since the days when east Jerusalem was under Jordanian control. The United Nations upon contract with Jordan allotted them the land after they became refugees when they were expelled from their homes in west Jerusalem by Zionists during the 1948 war.

Despite the UN and the Palestinian denials, and despite the fact that the lawyer of the Sheikh Jarrah families found that there is no evidence in the Turkish archives that the Siknaj are the owners of the land and the houses, the Israeli Supreme Court ordered the expulsion of the Palestinian families following an appeal by the Zionists Nahalat Shimon settler group, which claimed that the Siknaj lived in, or bought plots in these areas before the establishment of Israel itself and by the partition resolution of 1948.

Two third of the houses in the West of Jerusalem belong to Palestinian families whose owners are denied the right to retake them. Some of these owners have appealed to the Israeli Supreme Court to regain their property, but always this court has always rejected their appeals, thus in fact creating injustice and supporting crimes.

What the Israeli Supreme Court and the Zionists organization "State of Israel" must remember and never forget is that we are all the Palestinians will NEVER give up and never forget, and that FOR EVER there are tens of thousands, millions of us who have their land and the homes in occupied Palestine, since 1948 and prior to that, and that we have the documents which prove our ownership.

Over 750.000 of us Palestinians were forcibly expelled in 1948 by the Israeli Zionists, turning us into refugees in Arab countries and in the Diaspora, and that also millions of us live in the occupied West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip. We all have the right to return and to ask about our property. The Siknaj will be institutionalized, the whole criminal enterprise called "Israel" will go, and after that ALL jews of the world will be forever held in contempt everywhere, even in countries where today they are highly respected.[Kawther]

There are many houses and land belonging to Palestinians, which since 1948 – and until now, have been stolen and occupied by these European and American jews, which today are occupied by Israeli ministers. One of these thieves is the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who lives in a house stolen from a Palestinian family in the Al-Talibia Arab district in the west of Jerusalem.

The Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem was built by the UN and Jordanian government in 1956 to house Palestinian refugees from the 1948 war. In 1967 Israel captured and illegally annexed Jerusalem during the six day war. We Palestinians want East Jerusalem to be the capital of a future state that includes the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and so it will be with or without the consent of the Siknaj, who better start packing."

After five years of illegality, it is time to dismantle the Wall and respect the rights of Palestinians

In an advisory opinion, rendered on 9 July 2004, the International Court of Justice stated that Israel’s construction of the Wall in the occupied Palestinian Territory was illegal and called for its immediate dismantling. Five years later, the advisory opinion has been met only by inaction: Israel continues constructing the Wall and the international community remains silent. Oxfam International underscores the urgency of addressing this situation in a compilation of testimonies that is published today.

In its publication Five years of illegality, Oxfam International presents testimonies of fifteen Palestinian men and women who recount their daily problems, arising from the construction of the Wall and its associated regime of land confiscation and permits, and the construction and expansion of settlements.

Tragic consequences

Farmers separated from their fields, workers without access permits, pregnant women unable to reach the hospital, villages without adequate access to water. The UN estimates that in the north of the West Bank approximately 80 per cent of Palestinians who own land on the other side of the Wall have not received permits from the Israeli authorities, and hence cannot cultivate their fields. It is a similar story in other parts of the West Bank.

“Before the construction of the Wall, my cooperative harvested over 3,000 tonnes of olives”, explains Youssef Salim, an olive grower from Beit Jala, south of Jerusalem. “Now we only have between 500 and 1,000 tonnes depending on the year. I have 1.8 hectares of olive trees isolated behind the Wall. For years now I haven’t been able to tend to them because it is forbidden to enter this zone.”

The rule of law must triumph

“Daily, Oxfam International and its local partners witness the tragic consequences of the Wall, the permits and the checkpoints”, explains Jeremy Hobbs, Executive Director of Oxfam International. “Since the construction of the Wall and the setting in place of its associated regime, the deepening impoverishment and de-development of the Palestinian communities are undeniable. The construction of the Wall continues, well beyond the Green Line, depriving Palestinians of their livelihoods and of access to basic services. Israel’s concern to assure the security of its civilians is legitimate, but its measures should nonetheless remain in conformity with international humanitarian law. As an occupying power, Israel must guarantee the basic rights of the Palestinians.”

Oxfam International calls on the international community to effectively challenge the construction of the Wall in occupied territory and its associated regime, together with the construction of settlements and the confiscation and control of natural resources (land and water), which all de facto contribute to the altering of the demographic composition of the occupied Palestinian Territory and are in violation of international humanitarian law.

“For five years now, different Israeli governments and the international community have turned a deaf ear to the appeals by the General Assembly of the United Nations and have refused to respect and observe the opinion of the International Court of Justice. This inaction gives the wrong signal: that international law can be violated without accountability. For the sake of Palestinians and Israelis alike, it is time for the rule of law to triumph. If not, it will be very difficult to achieve a just, negotiated, and durable peace in the Middle East”, concludes Jeremy Hobbs.

"Israeli troops 'ill-treat kids'

Israel arrested 9,000 Palestinians last year, 700 of them children

A former Israeli military commander has told the BBC that Palestinian youngsters are routinely ill-treated by Israeli soldiers while in custody, reports the BBC' s Katya Adler from Jerusalem and the West Bank.

"You take the kid, you blindfold him, you handcuff him, he's really shaking... Sometimes you cuff his legs too. Sometimes it cuts off the circulation.

"He doesn't understand a word of what's going on around him. He doesn't know what you're going to do with him. He just knows we are soldiers with guns. That we kill people. Maybe they think we're going to kill him.

They dragged me from my home by the scruff of the neck. The more I cried the more they choked me... They pulled me along on my stomach. My knees were bleeding. They beat me with their guns and kicked me all the way to the jeep

"A lot of the time they're peeing their pants, just sit there peeing their pants, crying. But usually they're very quiet.''

Eran Efrati is a former commander in Israel's army. He served in the occupied West Bank.

In a discreet park in Jerusalem we meet to discuss allegations that soldiers like him often mistreat Palestinian minors, suspected of throwing stones.

Mr Efrati - who left the army five months ago - says the allegations are true:

''I never arrested anyone younger than nine or 10, but 14, 13, 11 for me, they're still kids. But they're arrested like adults.

"Every soldier who was in the Occupied Territories can tell you the same story. The first months after I left the army I dreamed about kids all the time. Jewish kids. Arab kids. Screaming.

''Maybe [the kid is] blindfolded for him not to see the base and how we're working... But I believe maybe we put the blindfold because we don't want to see his eyes. You don't want him to look at us - you know, beg us to stop, or cry in front of us. It's a lot easier if we don't see his eyes.

''When the kid is sitting there in the base, I didn't do it, but nobody is thinking of him as a kid, you know - if there is someone blindfolded and handcuffed, he's probably done something really bad. It's OK to slap him, it's OK to spit on him, it's OK to kick him sometimes. It doesn't really matter.''

Israel says even stones can be deadly weapons

Young Palestinians are mostly arrested for throwing stones at Jewish settlers or Israeli soldiers.

This, they say, is their only means of venting their frustration at Israel's military occupation of their home, the West Bank.

Every week in the West Bank village of Bilin, Palestinians organise a demonstration against Israel's West Bank barrier.

Israel says it needs the barrier to stop attacks on its citizens. Palestinians call it a land grab. They say it makes their daily life even tougher.

Israeli soldiers monitor the protest from the other side of the barrier.

Night-time arrests

At a recent protest, I watched a gang of Palestinian boys darting amongst the olive trees, picking up stones and rocks to throw at the soldiers.

Some used sling-shots. Many had a scarf or shawl wrapped round their face to hide their identity.

The soldiers responded with tear gas and sound grenades. Sometimes they have used rubber-coated bullets too.

After he left the military, Mr Efrati said he dreamed about children screaming

Often after an incident like this, Israeli soldiers raid a West Bank village.

Usually in the middle of the night. The arrests can be brutal.

''Their faces were painted when they came for him. It was frightening. All those soldiers for one boy. They put iron weights on his back in the jeep and beat him all the way to jail. He couldn't get up for a week.''

Mohammad Ballasi's 15-year-old son, also called Mohammad, was arrested by Israeli soldiers for stone-throwing.

We met him and his wife just outside an Israeli military base in the West Bank. Palestinian youngsters are tried in military tribunals.

The tribunals regard minors as Palestinians aged 16 or under. In Israel's civil courts minors are young people under the age of 18.

The first time Mohammad's parents saw him since he was arrested two weeks before was at his trial. He pleaded guilty.

''When you're beaten like that, you would confess against your own mother," said Suad Ballasi, choking back tears.

''He's a child. His friends are playing in the street and he is in handcuffs. I couldn't stop crying in court. My heart feels like it's going to explode.''

The human rights organisation Defence for Children International (DCI) has written a report accusing Israel's military of what it describes as the systematic and institutionalised ill-treatment and torture of Palestinian children by the Israeli authorities.

Gerard Horton is an international lawyer for DCI. He said Mohammad's Ballasi's story is a familiar one.

''We see these stories again and again. Israel is a signatory to the UN convention against torture. It's also a signatory to the UN convention on the rights of the child - and under customary international law, it's not permissible to mistreat and torture, particularly children, who are obviously more vulnerable than adults."

He told me that Israel arrested 9,000 Palestinians last year. Seven hundred of those were children.

Mr Horton says the military tribunals need to process cases quickly.

DCI believes the system is designed so that it is in an adult or a child's interest to plead guilty.

Israeli troops frequently use tear gas against protesters at Bilin

Gerard Horton says Palestinians tend to end up in jail longer if they try to fight their case.

Mohammad Khawaja had just turned 13 when he was arrested.

''They dragged me from my home by the scruff of the neck. The more I cried the more they choked me," he said.

"My mum was screaming. They pulled me along on my stomach. My knees were bleeding. They beat me with their guns and kicked me all the way to the jeep.

"They cuffed my hands and legs, blind-folded me and left me there for 24 hours. I thought I was going to die.

"Later interrogators wanted me to tell on other people. I wouldn't. They beat me with plastic chairs. They told me to sign a paper written in Hebrew. I don't read or speak it. Because I signed it they put me in jail.''

Israel's military denies any suggestion that the abuse of young Palestinians is routine, but the army says it has to guard against Palestinian children involved in what it describes as "acts of terror".

Nightmares

Lieutenant Colonel Avital Leibowitz is a spokeswoman for Israel's military.

''Even though it's just a stone or just a Molotov cocktail, they're deadly weapons. Doesn't matter who did it - they're deadly weapons," she said.

"Almost every other week we find a 14 or 15-year-old carrying an explosive belt or grenade on his body, in one of the crossings.

"This is the situation we live in, and since we are defending ourselves and we want to punish those terrorists, we have no choice but to find them, to punish them - and hope that we won't return to this."

Mohammad Khawaja hasn't slept properly since the soldiers came. He says the nightmares will not go away.

"Prisoners' society warns of IOA systematic violence against prisoners

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Wa'ed society for prisoners has called for urgent intervention to halt the Israeli occupation authority's (IOA) systematic violent acts against Palestinian prisoners.

The society in a statement on Wednesday said that what happened in the Negev desert prison could happen any time in any other prison.

Conditions of 11,000 Palestinian prisoners in IOA jails have been deteriorating rapidly on all levels, it added.

The society warned that the Negev prison administration might adopt penal measures and/or collective punishment against the Palestinian detainees as a result of the fire that gutted the prison tents.

Israeli prison guards stormed the prison wards following the fire wounding three prisoners a couple of days ago.

The ministry of prisoners in Gaza held the IOA and the Israeli prisons authority fully responsible for lives of the prisoners following the incident in the Negev prison in which 2,300 Palestinians are languishing."

There remains the complaint of zionist terrorism against me and against my daughter and my son by the zionist Gestapo here in Melbourne. According to the report, the Americans and Israelis were offering $1,000 to any youngster willing to convert to Christianity.

"IOF troops kidnap Palestinian children in Al-Khalil

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- The Palestinian prisoner society in Al-Khalil city has revealed Monday that at least 69 Palestinian citizens, including 11 children, were kidnapped by IOF troops in the city over the past month.

According to a report issued by the society over the matter, around 24 Palestinian students and ten patients were also rounded up during the IOF incursions in the populated city during the same period. Around 11 others were taken to Israeli detention centers for interrogation, the report added.

Relatives of the kidnapped children confirmed that the IOF troops stormed their homes and wreaked havoc inside them, and harshly beat their sons in front of their eyes before they arrested them.

According to Palestinian records, more than 400 Palestinian children were incarcerated in many Israeli prisons under very harsh prison conditions, in addition to the Israeli maltreatment and relentless attempts to make them spies and collaborators.

Furthermore, the society confirmed that the IOF thugs wounded the eye of captive Ali Ghazi Shawamrah, and broke the arm of citizen Saddam Ali Awad. Both citizens were rushed to the hospital, local sources confirmed.

The wallet of captive Mohammed Akram Abdul Kareem and the gold of his sister-in law were also stolen by the Israeli occupation soldiers during the "cowardly" assault on their home.

In this regard, the society called on all concerned local, regional, and international agencies and human rights and legal groups to immediately intervene to halt the aggressive Israeli occupation attacks on the unarmed Palestinian civilians. In the nearby Bethlehem city, 15 Palestinian citizens were apprehended by the IOF troops."

"Ghoul: Israeli leaders should stand trial for crimes against women prisoners

GAZA, (PIC)-- Minister of prisoners' affairs Mohammed Al-Ghoul has said that Israeli leaders should stand trial as war criminals for their flagrant violations of Palestinian female prisoners' rights.

He told a press conference in Gaza on Monday that the number of female prisoners in Israeli occupation jails had reached 65 including three from the Gaza Strip, four from Jerusalem and the rest from the West Bank.

Ghoul said that the Israeli prisons authority was preventing prisoners from visiting each other and corresponding with their families.

They are also deprived of new clothes and shoes other than the fact that their cells are stormed at late night hours and their personal belongings searched, he said, adding that the prisoners are held in solitary confinement and forced to pay hefty financial fines at trivial pretexts.

The women captives suffer from deliberate medical neglect, he said, noting that one third of them suffer from disease including serious cases such as Amal Juma who is suffering from cancer, and Nawal Al-Saadi, who suffered a stroke due to torture.

Six of those prisoners are minors, the minister underlined, adding that three were kidnapped with their husbands, three held under administrative detention, and five had brothers also held in Israeli jails."

Ni'lin and Bil'in face chemicals and tear gas; demonstration in Barta'

This Friday, Occupation forces rained tear gas and foul-smelling chemicals on protestors in the villages of Bil'in and Ni'lin during the weekly march. In Barta', a demonstration was organized at the terminal to protest the conditions imposed on the people there.

The people of Bil'in marched through the village this Friday, as they have done for the past years, calling for the Wall to be torn down and the prisoners released. Upon reaching the gate, protestors forced open the gate and were met by rounds of tear gas and chemical spray fired from an Occupation police vehicle, the latter of which caused dozens of people to vomit. Villagers have begun to don plastic hats, gloves and suits, in addition to masks, to protect themselves from the chemical spray.

The same tactics have been brought to Ni'lin, where Occupation forces used barrages of tear gas and foul smelling chemicals to keep demonstrators away from the Wall. Upwards of 100 people marched toward the isolated lands this week.

In Barta', Jenin district, a protest was held outside the terminal that isolates the village behind the Wall. Hundreds of people, among them Arab mayors and MKs from the '48, joined the action. This action comes in response to the most recent example of the abuse at the terminal, when Ramzi Qebaha was beaten and then arrested coming home from a graduation party after he refused to allow soldiers to strip search his wife. "

Except for unexplained absence of the zionist apartheid regime of Israel from her article below, the author of the article has done a very good job in exposing the current crimes of USA imperialism, as did the New Statesman by publishing it.

However, the role of the zionist diktat over the current USA administration cannot be ignored. For while Obama has been doing the demagoguery, to pacify the people inside the USA and outside it, his picked top henchmen have been busy implementing the zionist diktat on a world scale.

Thus, for example, on the deadly dangerous issue of zionist nuclear bombs production and deployment - which could easily engulf the entire humanity in a nuclear world war - not a single word was uttered by the entire Obama administration, as this is the zionist diktat, of course. Yet, in line with the zionist diktat, the ongoing campaign of threats, sanctions and subversion against Iran's nuclear program never stops, although Iran has not produced a single nuclear bomb to provide an excuse for such a campaign. Similarly is the ongoing campaign against North Korea.

The Obama administration, like the preceding Bush administration, continues to provide the zionist apartheid regime of Israel with some 4 billion USD annually - including, of course, free military assistance - and what for ? To perpetrate more war crimes and more crimes against humanity ? To perpetuate the zionist military occupation of the Golan Heights, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, as well as keep Lebanon under the permanent threat of a zionist invasion ?

In his Cairo speech Obama pledged that the USA administration ties with the zionist apartheid regime of Israel will continue to be "unbreakable", and he does keep this pledge. Thus, for example, as part of the Obama "peace plan" ,the zionist apartheid regime of Israel had to stop exapanding the illegal zionist settlements in the West Bank (including occupied Jerusalem), but it openly refuses to do so. Obama's administration reaction has been to further promise the zionists that they need not fear any sanctions from the USA !

The 44th president of the United States was elected amid hopes that he would roll back his country’s global dominance. Today, he is commander-in-chief of an unprecedented network of military bases that is still expanding.

July 30, 2009 "New Statesman" -- In December 2008, shortly before being sworn in as the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama pledged his belief that, "to ensure prosperity here at home and peace abroad", it was vital to maintain "the strongest military on the planet". Unveiling his national security team, including George Bush's defence secretary, Robert Gates, he said: "We also agree the strength of our military has to be combined with the wisdom and force of diplomacy, and that we are going to be committed to rebuilding and restrengthening alliances around the world to advance American interests and American security."

Unfortunately, many of the Obama administration's diplomatic efforts are being directed towards maintaining and garnering new access for the US military across the globe. US military officials, through their Korean proxies, have completed the eviction of resistant rice farmers from their land around Camp Humphreys, South Korea, for its expansion (including a new 18-hole golf course); they are busily making back-room deals with officials in the Northern Mariana Islands to gain the use of the Pacific islands there for bombing and training purposes; and they are scrambling to express support for a regime in Kyrgyzstan that has been implicated in the murder of its political opponents but whose Manas Airbase, used to stage US military actions in Afghanistan since 2001, Obama and the Pentagon consider crucial for the expanded war there.

The global reach of the US military today is unprecedented and unparalleled. Officially, more than 190,000 troops and 115,000 civilian employees are massed in approximately 900 military facilities in 46 countries and territories (the unofficial figure is far greater). The US military owns or rents 795,000 acres of land, with 26,000 buildings and structures, valued at $146bn (£89bn). The bases bristle with an inventory of weapons whose worth is measured in the trillions and whose killing power could wipe out all life on earth several times over.

The official figures exclude the huge build-up of troops and structures in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past decade, as well as secret or unacknowledged facilities in Israel, Kuwait, the Philippines and many other places. In just three years of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, £2bn was spent on military construction. A single facility in Iraq, Balad Airbase, houses 30,000 troops and 10,000 contractors, and extends across 16 square miles, with an additional 12 square mile "security perimeter". From the battle zones of Afghanistan and Iraq to quiet corners of Curaçao, Korea and Britain, the US military domain consists of sprawling army bases, small listening posts, missile and artillery testing ranges and berthed aircraft carriers (moved to "trouble spots" around the world, each carrier is considered by the US navy as "four and a half acres of sovereign US territory"). While the bases are, literally speaking, barracks and weapons depots, staging areas for war-making and ship repairs, complete with golf courses and basketball courts, they are also political claims, spoils of war, arms sale showrooms and toxic industrial sites. In addition to the cultural imperialism and episodes of rape, murder, looting and land seizure that have always accompanied foreign armies, local communities are now subjected to the ear-splitting noise of jets on exercise, to the risk of helicopters and warplanes crashing into residential areas, and to exposure to the toxic materials that the military uses in its daily operations.

The global expansion of US bases - and with it the rise of the US as a world superpower - is a legacy of the Second World War. In 1938, the US had 14 military bases outside its continental borders. Seven years later, it had 30,000 installations in roughly 100 countries. While this number was projected to shrink to 2,000 by 1948 (following pressure from other nations to return bases in their own territory or colonies, and pressure at home to demobilise the 12 million-man military), the US continued to pursue access rights to land and air space around the world. It established security alliances with multiple states within Europe (NATO), the Middle East and south Asia (CENTO) and south-east Asia (SEATO), as well as bilateral agreements with Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. Status of Forces Agreements (SOFAS) were crafted in each country to specify what the military could do, and usually gave US soldiers broad immunity from prosecution for crimes committed and environmental damage caused. These agreements and subsequent base operations have mostly been shrouded in secrecy, helped by the National Security Act of 1947. New US bases were built in remarkable numbers in West Germany, Italy, Britain and Japan, with the defeated Axis powers hosting the most significant numbers (at one point, Japan was peppered with 3,800 US installations).

As battles become bases, so bases become battles; the sites in east Asia acquired during the Spanish-American war in 1898 and during the Second World War - such as Guam, Thailand and the Philippines - became the primary bases from which the US waged war on Vietnam. The number of raids over north and south Vietnam required tons of bombs unloaded at the naval station in Guam. The morale of ground troops based in Vietnam, as fragile as it was to become through the latter part of the 1960s, depended on R&R (rest and recreation) at bases outside the country, which allowed them to leave the war zone and yet be shipped back quickly and inexpensively for further fighting. The war also depended on the heroin the CIA was able to ship in to the troops on the battlefield in Vietnam from its secret bases in Laos. By 1967, the number of US bases had returned to 1947 levels.

Technological changes in warfare have had important effects on the configuration of US bases. Long-range missiles and the development of ships that can make much longer runs without resupply have altered the need for a line of bases to move forces forward into combat zones, as has the aerial refuelling of military jets. An arms airlift from the US to the British in the Middle East in 1941-42, for example, required a long hopscotch of bases, from Florida to Cuba, Puerto Rico, Barbados, Trinidad, British Guiana, north-east Brazil, Fernando de Noronha, Takoradi (now in Ghana), Lagos, Kano (now in Nigeria) and Khartoum, before finally making delivery in Egypt. In the early 1970s, US aircraft could make the same delivery with one stop in the Azores, and today can do so non-stop.

On the other hand, the pouring of money into military R&D (the Pentagon has spent more than $85bn in 2009), and the corporate profits to be made in the development and deployment of the resulting technologies, have been significant factors in the ever larger numbers of technical facilities on foreign soil. These include such things as missile early-warning radar, signals intelligence, satellite control and space-tracking telescopes. The will to gain military control of space, as well as gather intelligence, has led to the establishment of numerous new military bases in violation of arms-control agreements such as the 1967 Outer Space Treaty. In Colombia and Peru, and in secret and mobile locations elsewhere in Latin America, radar stations are primarily used for anti-trafficking operations.

Since 2000, with the election of George W Bush and the ascendancy to power of a group of men who believed in a more aggressive and unilateral use of military power (some of whom stood to profit handsomely from the increased military budget that would require), US imperial ambition has grown. Following the declaration of a war on terror and of the right to pre-emptive war, the number of countries into which the US inserted and based troops radically expanded. The Pentagon put into action a plan for a network of "deployment" or "forward operating" bases to increase the reach of current and future forces. The Pentagon-aligned, neoconservative think tank the Project for the New American Century stressed that "while the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein".

The new bases are designed to operate not defensively against particular threats but as offensive, expeditionary platforms from which military capabilities can be projected quickly, anywhere. The Global Defence Posture Review of 2004 announced these changes, focusing not just on reorienting the footprint of US bases away from cold war locations, but on remaking legal arrangements that support expanded military activities with other allied countries and prepositioning equipment in those countries. As a recent army strategic document notes, "Military personnel can be transported to, and fall in on, prepositioned equipment significantly more quickly than the equivalent unit could be transported to the theatre, and prepositioning equipment overseas is generally less politically difficult than stationing US military personnel."

Terms such as facility, outpost or station are used for smaller bases to suggest a less permanent presence. The US department of defence currently distinguishes between three types of military facility. "Main operating bases" are those with permanent personnel, strong infrastructure, and often family housing, such as Kadena Airbase in Japan and Ramstein Airbase in Germany. "Forward operating sites" are "expandable warm facilit[ies] maintained with a limited US military support presence and possibly prepositioned equipment", such as Incirlik Airbase in Turkey and Soto Cano Airbase in Honduras. Finally, "co-operative security locations" are sites with few or no permanent US personnel, maintained by contractors or the host nation for occasional use by the US military, and often referred to as "lily pads". These are cropping up around the world, especially throughout Africa, a recent example being in Dakar, Senegal.

Moreover, these bases are the anchor - and merely the most visible aspect - of the US military's presence overseas. Every year, US forces train 100,000 soldiers in 180 countries, the presumption being that beefed-up local militaries will help to pursue US interests in local conflicts and save the US money, casualties and bad publicity when human rights abuses occur (the blowback effect of such activities has been made clear by the strength of the Taliban since 9/11). The US military presence also involves jungle, urban, desert, maritime and polar training exercises across wide swathes of landscape, which have become the pretext for substantial and permanent positioning of troops. In recent years, the US has run around 20 exercises annually on Philippine soil, which have resulted in a near-continuous presence of US soldiers in a country whose people ejected US bases in 1992 and whose constitution forbids foreign troops to be based on its territory. Finally, US personnel work every day to shape local legal codes to facilitate US access: they have lobbied, for example, to change the Philippine and Japanese constitutions to allow, respectively, foreign troop basing and a more-than-defensive military.

Asked why the US has a vast network of military bases around the world, Pentagon officials give both utilitarian and humanitarian arguments. Utilitarian arguments include the claim that bases provide security for the US by deterring attack from hostile countries and preventing or remedying unrest or military challenges; that bases serve the national economic interests of the US, ensuring access to markets and commodities needed to maintain US standards of living; and that bases are symbolic markers of US power and credibility - and so the more the better. Humanitarian arguments present bases as altruistic gifts to other nations, helping to liberate or democratise them, or offering aid relief. None of these humanitarian arguments deals with the problem that many of the bases were taken during wartime and "given" to the US by another of the war's victors.

Critics of US foreign policy have dissected and dismantled the arguments made for maintaining a global system of military basing. They have shown that the bases have often failed in their own terms: despite the Pentagon's claims that they provide security to the regions they occupy, most of the world's people feel anything but reassured by their presence. Instead of providing more safety for the US or its allies, they have often provoked attacks, and have made the communities around bases key targets of other nations' missiles. On the island of Belau in the Pacific, the site of sharp resistance to US attempts to instal a submarine base and jungle training centre, people describe their experience of military basing in the Second World War: "When soldiers come, war comes." On Guam, a joke among locals is that few people except for nuclear strategists in the Kremlin know where their island is.

As for the argument that bases serve the national economic interest of the US, the weapons, personnel and fossil fuels involved cost billions of dollars, most coming from US taxpayers. While bases have clearly been concentrated in countries with key strategic resources, particularly along the routes of oil and gas pipelines in central Asia, the Middle East and, increasingly, Africa, from which one-quarter of US oil imports are expected by 2015, the profits have gone first of all to the corporations that build and service them, such as Halliburton. The myth that bases are an altruistic form of "foreign aid" for locals is exploded by the substantial costs involved for host economies and polities. The immediate negative effects include levels of pollution, noise, crime and lost productive land that cannot be offset by soldiers' local spending or employment of local people. Other putative gains tend to benefit only local elites and further militarise the host nations: elaborate bilateral negotiations swap weapons, cash and trade privileges for overflight and land-use rights. Less explicitly, rice imports, immigration rights to the US or overlooking human rights abuses have been the currency of exchange.

The environmental, political, and economic impact of these bases is enormous. The social problems that accompany bases, including soldiers' violence against women and car crashes, have to be handled by local communities without compensation from the US. Some communities pay the highest price: their farmland taken for bases, their children neurologically damaged by military jet fuel in their water supplies, their neighbors imprisoned, tortured and disappeared by the autocratic regimes that survive on US military and political support given as a form of tacit rent for the bases. The US military has repeatedly interfered in the domestic affairs of nations in which it has or desires military access, operating to influence votes and undermine or change local laws that stand in the way.

Social movements have proliferated around the world in response to the empire of US bases, ever since its inception. The attempt to take the Philippines from Spain in 1898 led to a drawn-out guerrilla war for independence that required 126,000 US occupation troops to stifle. Between 1947 and 1990, the US military was asked to leave France, Yugoslavia, Iran, Ethiopia, Libya, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Algeria, Vietnam, Indonesia, Peru, Mexico and Venezuela. Popular and political objection to the bases in Spain, the Philippines, Greece and Turkey in the 1980s gave those governments the grounds to negotiate significantly more compensation from the US. Portugal threatened to evict the US from important bases in the Azores unless it ceased its support for independence for its African colonies.

Since 1990, the US has been sent packing, most significantly, from the Philippines, Panama, Saudi Arabia, Vieques and Uzbekistan. Of its own accord, for varying reasons, it decided to leave countries from Ghana to Fiji. Persuading the US to clean up after itself - including, in Panama, more than 100,000 rounds of unexploded ordnance - is a further struggle. As in the case of the US navy's removal from Vieques in 2003, arguments about the environmental and health damage of the military's activities remain the centrepiece of resistance to bases.

Many are also concerned by other countries' overseas bases - primarily European, Russian and Chinese - and by the activities of their own militaries, but the far greater number of US bases and their weaponry has understandably been the focus. The sense that US bases represent a major injustice to the host community and nation is very strong in countries where US bases have the longest standing and are most ubiquitous. In Okinawa, polls show that 70 to 80 per cent of the island's people want the bases, or at least the marines, to leave. In 1995, the abduction and rape of a 12-year-old Okinawan girl by two US marines and one US sailor led to demands for the removal of all US bases in Japan. One family in Okinawa has built a large peace museum right up against the edge of the Futenma Airbase, with a stairway to the roof that allows busloads of schoolchildren and other visitors to view the sprawling base after looking at art depicting the horrors of war.

In Korea, the great majority of the population feels that a reduction in US presence would increase national security; in recent years, several violent deaths at the hands of US soldiers triggered vast candlelight vigils and protests across the country. And the original inhabitants of Diego Garcia, evicted from their homes between 1967 and 1973 by the British on behalf of the US for a naval base, have organised a concerted campaign for the right to return, bringing legal suit against the British government, a story told in David Vine's recent book Island of Shame. There is also resistance to the US expansion plans into new areas. In 2007, a number of African nations baulked at US attempts to secure access to sites for military bases. In eastern Europe, despite well-funded campaigns to convince Poles and Czechs of the value of US bases and much sentiment in favour of accepting them in pursuit of closer ties with Nato and the EU, and promised economic benefits, vigorous protests have included hunger strikes and led the Czech government, in March, to reverse its plan to allow a US military radar base to be built in the country.

The US has responded to action against bases with a renewed emphasis on "force protection", in some cases enforcing curfews on soldiers, and cutting back on events that bring local people on to base property. The department of defence has also engaged in the time-honoured practice of renaming: clusters of soldiers, buildings and equipment have become "defence staging posts" or "forward operating locations" rather than military bases. Regulating documents become "visiting forces agreements", not "status of forces agreements", or remain entirely secret. While major reorganisation of bases is under way for a host of reasons, including a desire to create a more mobile force with greater access to the Middle East, eastern Europe and central Asia, the motives also include an attempt to prevent political momentum of the sort that ended US use of the Vieques and Philippine bases.

The attempt to gain permanent basing in Iraq foundered in 2008 on the objections of forces in both Iraq and the US. Obama, in his Cairo speech in June, may have insisted that "we pursue no bases" in either Iraq or Afghanistan, but there has been no sign of any significant dismantling of bases there, or of scaling back the US military presence in the rest of the world. The US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, recently visited Japan to ensure that it follows through on promises to provide the US with a new airfield on Okinawa and billions of dollars to build new housing and other facilities for 8,000 marines relocating to Guam. She ignored the invitation of island activists to come and see the damage left by previous decades of US base activities. The myriad land-grabs and hundreds of billions of dollars spent to quarter troops around the world persist far beyond Iraq and Afghanistan, and too far from the headlines."

Your letter concerns only my complaint against ASIO for wiretapping my phone at the behest of the zionist Gestapo, an obviously illegal activity for which I have solid proof. However, trusting your assurance that your department is on guard against such unlawful activity, and that an "investigation into a serious offence" takes place before a warrant ( for the wiretapping) is issued, I thank you for ending that illegal wiretapping of my phone.

There remains the complaint of zionist terrorism against me and against my daughter and my son by the zionist Gestapo here in Melbourne. European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana surprised observers on 11 July when he called, during a speech in London, for the UN Security Council to recognize a Palestinian state by a certain date even if no agreement had been reached between Israelis and Palestinians.

On its face, this proposal sounds dramatic. There must be some who still believe that a Security Council decision would result in real and drastic action. The reality, however, is that the Security Council is not the powerful executive organ it was created to be.

Yet Solana clearly angered Israel by daring to make such a proposal. Israel is not used to being surprised, and normally the big powers consult it before making any major statements about the Middle East situation. This time it seems Solana did not seek the proper Israeli permission. Yet the Israeli anger itself seemed to give added credence to the idea that Solana must have said something significant.

Solana praised the new peace initiative of US President Barack Obama and suggested that if that fails to bring about a binding agreement between the parties, then the "international community" should intervene through the Security Council. Specifically, Solana proposed:

"After a fixed deadline, a UN Security Council resolution should proclaim the adoption of the two-state solution. This should include all the parameters of borders, refugees, Jerusalem and security arrangements. It would accept the Palestinian state as a full member of the UN, and set a calendar for implementation. It would mandate the resolution of other remaining territorial disputes and legitimize the end of claims."

What this seemingly bold statement boils down to is that Solana wants the Security Council to join the chorus of those who have been singing the two-state solution song for decades. Instead of suggesting concrete measures to enforce previous and long-ignored UN resolutions, or to check Israel's violations which made a Palestinian state impossible, Solana simply wants the UN to recognize an imaginary Palestinian state as a full member of the UN.

If we try to put a positive spin on it, we could say that the "two-state solution" is already half way to being achieved. After all, one of the two states -- Israel -- has been in existence for more than 60 years, and moreover has been expanding its territory for all that time.

The problem, however, is that this "success" means that there is nowhere left for a second state. Solana, like many others, finds it easy to parrot the two-state solution, but does not have the courage to demand a complete end even to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip which began on 4 June 1967.

Having himself been such a key part of the failed peace process, Solana now wants the Security Council to "mandate" a resolution of central issues -- borders, refugees, Jerusalem, settlements and security arrangements. He does not say how the UN would do this but merely throws it to them as if these matters are minor details.

Indeed, Solana could have recognized that the UN -- the Security Council in particular -- has already dealt with these matters. Hasn't the Security Council decided repeatedly that all of Israel's settlements beyond the line of 4 June 1967 are illegal and should be removed? Hasn't it declared that Israel's annexation of occupied East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights is null and void as are all legal and administrative changes made in these territories by Israel? Hasn't the Security Council declared clearly and repeatedly that Israel's efforts to change the demographic composition of the Occupied Palestinian Territories are totally illegal and invalid?

Given that all this is the case, and the Security Council never once moved to enforce its own resolutions violated by Israel, why should its intervention matter now? If anything -- and this is likely why Solana is shy to say exactly what the Security Council should do -- he wants it to endorse fake solutions which legitimize illegality. For example, a UN resolution canceling the right of return, recognizing existing settlements, imposing on Palestinians a bantustan instead of state, and probably also mandating NATO or other international forces to occupy the state, as is the case in several Balkan countries created under Solana's stewardship.

There is no guarantee that Israel would comply with even such a resolution that endorses most of its demands. What would happen then? Is Solana proposing that the Security Council develop a backbone, that it enforce its own resolutions with sanctions against Israel? If so, that would be welcome of course, but the test is to enforce the existing resolutions which Israel and Solana, along with the rest of the peace process industry have ignored and undermined for so long.

It might have made some sense if Solana suggested that the Security Council recognize a Palestinian state in all of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including East Jerusalem, on the borders exactly as they were on 4 June 1967. That would have signaled an intent to reinforce existing international law and bring an end to the illegal colonial occupation which the EU has subsidized and politically covered for so long.

Instead, Solana seems to be calling for the UN to endorse vague ideas and start again an entire process that has proven totally misguided and fruitless. The real worry, however, is that Solana, who has always taken his political cues from Washington, is launching a trial balloon. He may be proposing a course of action to save the Obama administration from the failure of the process being conducted by US Middle East envoy George Mitchell.

It is not far-fetched to imagine the United States, which effectively controls the Security Council, proposing a resolution embodying Solana-like ideas, and packaging this as being part of a new US commitment to international joint action and legitimacy. The Palestinians will be presented with a fait accompli

Passing such a resolution, and calling it Middle East "peace" would mark a new low in the UN's abdication of its responsibilities. It would be the diplomatic equivalent of hanging up a banner declaring "Mission Accomplished" at the beginning of a long and disastrous war. where they will be told that any demands for the their legitimate and inalienable rights beyond what the resolution contains are now invalid.

"IOF troops kidnap 200 workers, blast Palestinian homes

JENIN, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale search campaign in the village of Barta'a, Jenin district, at a late hour on Monday and rounded up more than 200 workers before leaving the village at dawn Tuesday.

Local sources said that 300 IOF soldiers mounting 70 army vehicles encircled and stormed the village shortly before midnight Monday and broke into 200 houses at the pretext that the villagers were providing shelter for Palestinian laborers working in 1948 occupied Palestine.

This is the first operation of its kind where Palestinian workers are chased in the West Bank whereas the soldiers used to detain those workers in the 1948 occupied land.

Meanwhile, IOF troops at dawn Tuesday rounded up four Palestinian citizens in north and central West Bank, claiming they were wanted for interrogation including a Jerusalemite.

In Nablus, citizens said that the soldiers threw explosive devices on the entrances of five houses in Balata refugee camp wounding a number of citizens and causing big material damage.

Jewish settlers, for their part, threw stones at Palestinian vehicles near Yitzhar crossing point in Nablus district.

Local sources in Al-Khalil city said that settlers also threw stones at the Ibrahimi Mosque and smashed a number of its windows.

In Kufl Hares village, Salfit district, the IOF soldiers distributed notifications to citizens warning them against completing construction of their homes and warning others that their homes would be flattened.

IOF soldiers had demolished three homes east of Breij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip on Monday during an incursion that was coupled with bulldozing cultivated lands."

Rabbis and mayors are among more than 40 people arrested over allegations of political bribery, money-laundering and the selling of human organs in the US.

Federal investigators say their 10-year probe - dubbed Operation Bid Rig - uncovered widespread corruption of public officials and the channelling of funds through charities operated by local Jewish leaders.
The mayors of New Jersey cities Hoboken, Secaucus, Ridgefield and the deputy mayor of Jersey City - along with council members, housing officials and building inspectors - are all accused of accepting money in return for help with project approval.
"New Jersey's corruption problem is one of the worst, if not the worst, in the nation," said Ed Kahrer, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's white collar crime and public corruption program in New Jersey.
"It has become ingrained in New Jersey's political culture."
Authorities say their investigations into the political bribery led them to a separate money-laundering network involving some $3m (£1.8m) between June 2007 and July 2009.

Thank you for your letter of reply, dated 2 July, which I received by mail on the 6th of July.

Your letter concerns only my complaint against ASIO for wiretapping my phone at the behest of the zionist Gestapo, an obviously illegal activity for which I have solid proof. However, trusting your assurance that your department is on guard against such unlawful activity, and that an "investigation into a serious offence" takes place before a warrant ( for the wiretapping) is issued, I thank you for ending that illegal wiretapping of my phone.

There remains the complaint of zionist terrorism against me and against my daughter and my son by the zionist Gestapo here in Melbourne. This remains a very serious complaint, because those terrorist activities are, in fact, attempts on our lives ( see, for example, this medical report regarding the fatal consequences of sleep deprivation : http://18thoutlawpsychiatry.blogspot.com/2009/07/more-on-killing-treatment-of-state.html).

As you conclude your letter by stating that you "cannot assist (me) further with (my) complaint" it comes as a shock to me. Secondly, because ASIO which aids and abets this zionist terrorism in Australia, rather than stop it, and does it without being accountable (and with the collusion of the Inspector-General), makes a mockery of the rule of law in Australia, as well as victimising myself , my daughter and my son !

Such a situation is unthinkable in a country where the rule of law prevails, such as this country, Australia. As Australian citizens, myself and my daughter and son are entitled to the protection of the law ! Surely, this federal government would not let a foreign government terrorize Australian citizens here, on Australian soil !

The past month has seen a renewed campaign of arrests by Occupation forces, in particular targeting the villages that resist the construction of the Apartheid Wall. While several imprisoned Palestinians have been released, more in Bil’in, Ni’lin and Jayyus have all fallen victim to this latest round of kidnappings and arrests.

Perhaps the most high profile of these arrests was that of Mohammed Srour, who was on his way back from Geneva, where he had testified on the murders of two Ni’lin residents at a demonstration in December. He was arrested while attempting to cross into the West Bank from Jordan and held for two days, in what was clearly a reprisal for his testimony. Mohammed was well aware of the dangers of going to testify at the UN, and four minutes into his testimony at the Mission openly stated that he knew “full well that I will pay the price for this testimony when I return at Israeli crossing points in my journey of return after this hearing.” So concerned was Mohammed about being prevented from reaching the UN that he arranged specially to obtain a visa to Switzerland only after he was safely in Jordan.

Mohammed was released after a relatively short time, but all eyes are still on the UN to see what, if any, action it will take on the matter. No court or inquiry should tolerate the intimidation of its witnesses.

The most far-reaching and concentrated campaign of arrests has taken place in Bil’in. Seventeen have been arrested, and thirteen are still imprisoned. The arrests have taken place in what has become an all-too-predictable manner: taken in night raids or snatched during demonstrations, most of the victims are in their teens. The character of the policy, too, is recognisable – it is used both indiscriminately as collective punishment, and in a targeted manner designed to incapacitate the leadership of the demonstrations. In a recent ruling, a military court decided that Adeeb Abu Rahmeh, a prominent activist, would be kept until the charges against him had run their course, which could mean a year in prison for Adeeb, who is the sole provider for his family of nine children, wife and mother.

Jayyus, too, has been the subject of a set of arrests in the last few weeks. Earlier this month, sixty-five soldiers and ten jeeps stormed the village at 3am, breaking into homes without warning and forcing families onto the street. Three people were arrested, all in their late teens. The three were due to sit important university exams, and two have now missed them. No reason was given for the arrests.

In al-Ma’sara, the last prisoner from the May 1 arrests was released. On July 20, Hasan Brajiya returned home after spending close to three months in jail. He and four others were taken following a march against the Wall in commemoration of Workers’ Day.

"Dugard calls on criminal court to probe Israel’s war crimes in Gaza

NEW YORK, (PIC)-- John Dugard, the head of the independent fact-finding committee formed by the Arab League, called on the international criminal court to investigate Israeli war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip so as not to be condemned for double standard.

Dugard said, in an article published Wednesday by New York Times newspaper, that several investigations including one by the Arab League independent committee which he chaired have found considerable evidence that serious crimes were committed in Israel’s war on Gaza.

The investigation conducted by this committee proved, according to Dugard’s article, that Israel used weapons designed to inflict the maximum suffering on Gaza people in addition to the fact that no serious attempt was made to distinguish between civilian and military targets.

The article noted that Israel is not a member of the international criminal court, so this court does not have jurisdiction on its territory, adding the UN security council could not refer the situation to this court as it did in the case of Darfur because such a move would certainly be vetoed by the US.

Dugard suggested that the only way to prosecute Israel is that the Palestinian authority (PA) submit a request immediately before the prosecutor of the criminal court Luis Ocampo for an investigation into whether international crimes were committed by Israel in Gaza.

It pointed out that over 100 states have recognized the state of Palestine and it is a member of the Arab League. Moreover, the PA has diplomatic relations with many states and observer status at the UN, so it is not necessary for Ocampo to decide that Palestine is a state for all purposes, but only for the purpose of the court, which is “the investigation of war crimes”.

The Rome statute, under which the criminal court was established, allows any state not party to the statute to declare that it accepts the jurisdiction of this court for international crimes committed within its territory, it was asserted in the article."
